Default The "Hooray for NO MORE STICKY RESIDUE!" Thread

I have seen that many new blurays do not have any stickers on the side or bottom of the case so there wont be any residue on the case. This is a great day for Blu-People everywhere lol

The security tag inside also annoys me.

It is indeed. We have been liberated from the oppressive overly sticky security tapes. I think we can all thank Paidgeek for his lobbying on our behalf.

I'm happy about it as well. Of course just the other night I finally got to opening/watching Aliens vs. Predator, and it had it on it. That's annoying as hell.

There was a class action suit and an amendment to the constitution stating to the effect that all BD cases from this day forward shall be free of sticky substances of any kind in the interest of equality. You don't see those on DVDs afterall.

This used to bother the crap out of me also. I got reminded of it again recently when I bought a couple of the older titles in one of the BOGO deals. I guess they had been sitting an Amazon's warehouse for close to a year and sure enough the stickers left a bunch of gunk behind. It reminded me how glad I am that they generally don't do this anymore

For some strange reason, I remember that the stickers on my Lionsgate titles always came off fine even when they had 3 of them on the case. No idea why.

How weird....

I don't know about in the States, but here in the UK all stickers are designed to peel off effortlessly and leave no residue on the case... whether it's a price tag, or a review ratings propaganda type sticker, or a security seal... true in all cases.

Maybe I'm the only one that misses those stickers? I kinda enjoyed meticulously removing the glue. Sort of a mini-ritual to celebrate my purchase.

enjoy
