I really enjoyed ... scratch that, I do thoroughly enjoy the last two movies. It is among my favorite of franchizes. While the first one was groundbreaking and didn't even need sequels, I believe they added a positive dimension to the mythos created by the Wachowskis. I just finished a marathon, a couple of weeks ago, interlacing bits of the Animatrix in between for good measure.

If they do this, I am definitely on board. Although I what I would really like to see is a live action "Second Renaissance" one day.

i enjoyed all 3 films.

the biggest thing #'s 2 & 3 had going against them was that the 1st one was so huge and was nearly impossible to follow up w/anything anyone would've approved of.

I loved all three movies! With respect to those who have not seen them:

[Show spoiler]There's plenty of material to expand on for two more films: Remember, The One was just another system of control--a variable in an equation at best. They never explicitly stated whether Neo died or not (I don't think he did). Further, (at least in my opinion) the 'real world' was not real at all. I believe it was a Matrix within a Matrix; a fail safe if you will. The 'cave rave' scene is very symbolic of Plato's Cave. Again, this is the beauty of the films: The above is my 'interpretation' of the film. You may have your own, and we are both correct. I've studied all three along with the Animatrix to no end--I thoroughly believe the real world is not real. The speculated sequels could take away from the element of interpretation of the whole series and leave us with a more definitive ending.

If they could make two more, and still make movies that you have to think about to 'get it,' I'll be fine with it. I want something that someone else can watch and 'get' something totally different from me and us both be correct.

Ugh, rather see Keanu do a Bill & Ted sequel than another Matrix.

Especially after just recently watching the trilogy. I enjoyed the 2nd, and 3rd much more this time around, and it definitely left me wanting more. I think this is very exciting, and I hope it comes to fruition.

2nd two weren't as good as the first, in a large part because neo became superman and killed a lot of the tension.

That being said: Do not want. You know they'll make them spineless PG-13 crap.

Would rather see Constantine 2.

They should have stopped at the first one. It at least was good. This can only end in more bad cinema.

Love the trilogy, and I'd love to see what new tricks they (should we call them brothers? ) might have under their sleeves.

this man gets it.

And yes, I'd definitely watch a 4 and 5 if they make them. The sequels were clearly inferior to the classic original, but still entertained on the most basic level. Smith vs. Neo final battle is still one of my all time faves, and not just because of the fight itself, but the thematic undertones surrounding it as well.

I hope not. The ending with part three was great. And, how would the agents come back if Neo destroyed them all.

dude....you defend the horrid SW prequels with frothing fanboy fervor. You are in NO position to point an accusatory crooked finger of judgment at any film for the rest of your life

The Star Wars prequels are great films. Better on average than the Original Triliogy. Matrix 2 and 3 blew.

It's all about opinions and perception Beast. Some people don't like the prequels, some people don't like the Matrix sequels and vice versa. We all have different tastes, just remember that

Exactly. Hell, I really liked the first Matrix. I just was disappointed how badly the sequels crahed and burned.

I understand your frustration, but that's how some people feel about the prequels too. I for one enjoy all the Matrix movies and all the Star wars movies...But I'm easily entertained so that has a lot to do with it. The first Matrix is easily the best in the series though. The other two are good, not great to me.
