I thought I would start a thread about reoccuring things in movies that you dislike. What I mean by this is not specifics, rather in terms of films and tv as a whole (and what to you mind they do far to often, fell free to give examples but please don't turn this into a movie hating thread as apposed to what it is meant to be). Also not to vague like 'I hate cliches'. Hopefully this makes sense.
I'll start off: I hate it when actors who are clearly far to old are cast in a film as teenagers and/or at high-school. My issue does not lie with if they are older, afterall some 'older' actors/actress can look the part. My issue is when they clearly look older and at times i've seen people who must have been in there thirties playing a seventeen year old or even younger. |

[Show spoiler] ), but it doesn't need to be in every film (this goes for sex, or the hint of it as well).

In TV shows, when a commercial hits, and then they repeat the conversation or scene when the show resumes. Always seems so condescending to me as a viewer. It's only been 3-4 minutes; I remember what you were doing.

This is particularly egregious when it's released on home video.

Big name stars voicing characters in animated films. I understand that they do it to put butts in the seats, but most of them, while fine actors on camera, make terrible VO talent because they don't know how to create character with their voices.

Wow, I can think of lots of examples that I thought did a fantastic job, like James Earl Jones in Lion King, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen in Toy Story, Zach Braff in Chicken Little, just to name a few.

My biggest complaint in movies and TV shows is how people (amateurs and professionals alike) are depicted handling guns/firearms.
1) If I point a gun at you, it does NOT make a noise unless I pull the trigger. 2) Racking a slide, cocking a hammer and/or chambering a round should already have been done long before they make a point of showing the viewer this. No LEO or military professional would EVER enter a life and death situation with guns drawn, but no rounds chambered. 3) And, of course, the bottomless magazines/chambers allowing one to never have to reload. For someone with intimate firearm knowledge and experience, this drives me nuts every time I see it happen. I've come to the conclusion that this is all done intentionally solely for "effect" for the J6P viewer who doesn't know any better, as most of these productions have professional firearms consultants who surely know better. |

wow, so many to chose from, lets see....
how about computer hackers who never use a mouse, everything is done by the keyboard. isn't it easier with the mouse???? and, this is my one of my biggest, having that one girl, who is the tough chick (ie Predators, Aliens, and multiple other movies ) who seems to have the biggest gun and are the toughest. that really drives me and can ruin a movie experience for me. |
