There are three directors of which I own everything they have or will direct.

1. James Cameron
2. Quentin Tarantino
3. Kevin Smith

I also own most of Martin Scorsese's movies and most of Steven Spielberg's.

I buy rather slowly, so buying all of these movies is more of a long-term ambition.

Stanley Kubrick- Currently own none, oddly enough.

Terrence Malick- Currently own The New World, one of my favorite films of all time.

David Lynch- Haven't bought Dune yet because its my least favorite of his films (well, I think so, anyway... I fell asleep about halfway through) but I'll buy it and attempt to watch it again eventually. Although was unimpressed with the film, I think I fell asleep more out of exhaustion than boredom.

Christopher Nolan- Currently own The Prestige, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and Inception. Can't wait for the new Memento Blu-ray

David Fincher- Currently own Fight Club

Darren Aronofsky- Incredibly excited for Black Swan, haven't bought any of his other films yet.

Wes Anderson- I own my favorite Anderson film (Fantastic Mr. Fox) but I'd like to have the rest as well.

Ridley Scott, James Cameron, Christopher Nolan and Guillermo Del Toro. Terrence Malick, since he only made like 4 movies, easy!
Spielberg, Lucas, Scorsese and Mann come close...

Alfred Hitchcock (would definitely get every single title)
Christopher Nolan (very likely I'll get every title)
Clint Eastwood (likely I'll get every title)
Steven Spielberg (I might get every title, even though I'm not interested in particular titles, I always find myself immenseley entertained)
Stanley Kubrick (have plenty yet to check out, but dispite my interests in the films, I am more interested in the director)
David Lean (haven't seen his films thoroughly, but am almost certain is a director I will like and will likely get every title available)
John McTiernan (I'm an action junkie, so there's no doubt I'll probably own every one of his titles when/if they ever come to blu)
John Carpenter (already own 5 of his bigger titles on blu-ray, recently saw Starmen and saw Escape from L.A., I'm sure I'll own every title that comes to blu-ray, eventually)
Francis Ford Coppola (to some extent interested in both films and director, and may one of these days get every title available)
Ridley Scott (to some extent interested in both the films and the director)
Howard Hawkes (not familiar with the director, but will probably end up owning every film that comes to blu-ray)
John Huston (somewhat interested in the director and will likely get every title)
John Ford (not particularly interested in the director but will probably own every title)
Luc Besson (have plenty films yet to see, but I'm very interested to see more of his films, I may like him better as a writer though)
James Cameron (will probably own all titles eventually, though I have slight distaste for Avatar)
Robert Wise (Not particularly interested in the director, but will probably end up owning most of his films)
Sam Peckinpah (already own two films and may blind-buy Straw Dogs when/if it comes to blu-ray)
Franklin J. Schaffner (not familiar with the director, but already have Planet of the Apes, plan on getting Patton, and will likely blind-buy Papillon)
Richard Brooks (not familiar with the director, but I already own two of his titles on blu-ray and really like 'em, so I'm not sure)
Fritz Lang (not familiar with the director, but intend to check him out since he's supposedly Hitchcock's inspiration)

I still haven't seen all films from all these directors and still not familiar with all directors, but these are the director's I have my eyes on and will likely buy or even blind-buy their films when/if they become available on blu-ray. There still might be directors I haven't listed, but these would likely be my top picks. If I could make a list of actors it might be a bigger list and more certain, as I'm almost willing to blind-buy any title with actors I like.

Definitely make sure to get "Days of Heaven" and "The Thin Red Line"!!!!!

The New World is like meditation! I utterly love it.
All of them are extremely beautiful, poetic, profound, and full of love for nature!

I would have to say at the top of the list would Kubrick. Just looking at the 8 BD I got yesterday from the dvd2blu program, half were from him -

The Shining
Full Metal Jacket
A Clockwork Orange
2001: A Space Odyssey

All great movies and all very different. Have the box set he has out on regular DVD. After that Scorsese and Spielberg.

David Fincher ATM, all we need is Panic Room and The Game (which will come this year more than likely).

I have all of Kevin Smith's films in high def. All of his blu-rays plus Mallrats and Jersey Girl on HD DVD.

I'd like to get all of Darren Aronofsky's and David Lynch's work on BD if they get released.
