Australia Chick Flicks for the Ladies...

Help! I need to convince the woman that the hundreds of dollars I spend on Blu-rays are worth it. What good flicks can I get for her so she doesn't cut me off at the source?

So far I only have a few: Couples Retreat, Sarah Marshall and Across the Universe.

Hairspray. Just make sure you are out of the house while it's on otherwise you may find yourself in the market for a noose.

Shakespeare in Love is one that both you and your lady friend can get through. The Princess Bride, Knight and Day, Stardust and Walk the Line are also good - they aren't chick flicks but they don't have things that would get you booted out of the home theatre for.

Oh, and Shoot 'Em Up. Nothing says chick flick like a man sacrificing things for the sake of a young baby whom he has absolutely no ties to. How selfless and fluffy.

Grease
Dirty dancing
Pretty woman
Ghost
Sex and the city 1 & 2
Valentine's day
My sisters keeper
The time travelers wife
Brokeback mountain
The notebook
or any of the twlight movies

Put them somewhere that she will notice them about 10 minutes before she gets home from work with a note, then quickly leave and go to the pub before she gets home.

Yeah my missus owns all the blu's I mentioned, she has just over 50 blu-rays in her collection. I very rarely watch any of the blu's she buys but she is always watching movies I want to watch, she likes quite a lot of so called guy movies, which is great for me.

Would The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo be considered a chick flick?

I Spit on Your Grave. Originally titled Day of the Woman. The ultimate chick flick.

Default Monsoon Wedding.

I'd recommend Monsoon Wedding. It's the only chick flick I actually like.

Notting Hill is one of my favorite movies. An unabashed romantic comedy with Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts, but it's probably the funniest film Richard Curtis has ever written and Rhys Ifans's character is genius.

Nothing like the rape and murder of a 15 year old girl to get your evening going.... not sure I would class The Lovely Bones as a chick flick....
