Speaking of OAR, Return of the Joker has shown up in HD on Netflix instant streaming, but is cropped to 4:3. I hope the Blu-ray gets it right.
Also, I sincerely hope Subzero comes to Blu-ray and in 1.66, because I'd like to finally replace my Laserdisc. |

Batman Beyond still had the same people working on it, don't know why so many don't like it. I got the complete series for Christmas and have been thinking of at least renting ROTJ, but now I'll just wait for the blu-ray
![]() Very happy about this and hope it does well and urges WB to go back to MOTP, the original series, etc. |

The credits (and I believe the titles) are in the 1.33:1 ratio and only the animation is in widescreen so Warner Bros. would have to re-edit the movie to make a 16x9 transfer, even if the edit was nothing more than chopping off the credits and re-attaching a windowboxed version on the anamorphic transfer.

I'm expecting this to be the original PG DVD release in the same aspect ratio (4x3).
- whoops, just saw the back of the case says it's PG-13. Very strange if the aspect ratio is correct, then, unless they are saying that because it's non-anamorphic letterboxed. I really would be shocked if WB gave us an anamorphic transfer, although it sure would be nice. Last edited by BrandonJF; 01-26-2011 at 07:59 PM. |

The runtime is consistent with the longer cut.
That clue aside, I don't think we'll ever get the shorter version. It was never intended for release. The 76 minute cut was about to be released when Congress started pushing Warner Brothers very hard on their content. The shortened version was a concession to Lieberman at the time. |

![]() Quote:
1.33 framing for this and Justice League is likely due to the resolution these movies were animated in. Its likely the 1440 x 1080 4:3 versions of the animation on Blu-Ray is the highest resolution the show can be presented in without reanimating the show. Its likely that any full 1080p versions of the widescreen version would simply be upconverted from lower resolution animation. So if thats the case 4:3 is probably best since the movie/episodes can be zoomed to fill the frame and have identical framing as a true widescreen presentation would have.
