Mexico Rec 1 & 2 Premium Book Edition

They are being distributed from Warner Brothers so I'm assuming it'll be region free. Anyone doing a group buy for these? I'm from the US.

I found a post on a random forum that claims these are B-locked, take it with a grain of salt though.

If these are Spanish releases, why is there a Mexican flag on this thread?

I agree with the above poster, does anyone have these in the US and are they playable on a regular region A?

I'd definitely like to buy these....

Based on several comments I've read from other users it seems that "at least" the movie feature plays on most (if not all) "Region A" SA and PS3 players. The supplements are not playable though.

The problem here (besides of the supplements stuff), is the fact that is way too expensive to import directly from Spain because of the high prices of the BD's in Spain plus the costly shipping fees. Definitely I'll wait until these movies are released in the UK, USA or Mexico.
Now, if you don't wanna wait and if u don't mind spending some extra $$ than usual for a BD, go for the spanish editions.

cheers.

My understanding is that [rec] was shot at 25 fps, so this BD should (like most others) be 1080/50i resolution, unless Warner have sped it down to 24 fps for a 1080p encode.

It seems [rec] 2 was shot at film speed and thus the releases worldwide are native 1080p.

Did WB license the films from Filmax, or did something else occur that these are being re-released by Warner?

I wonder the same. [REC] was released by Filmax in Spain. Sadly it was a region B locked edition. Same the british and german editions. Apparently the french edition is region B locked as well.
I really hope that Warner could release [REC] region-free. Does anybody knows if this edition is region free? Or is this the same old Filmax edition, just this time distributed by Warner?

I don't have the Premium Collection Digibooks but I do have the keepcase versions in the Jaume Balagueró Collection. Those are distributed by WB for Filmax and are Region A compatible so I'd guess the Digibooks are too.

EDIT: Comparing the features on the back of the digibook to the keepcase version I have everything appears to be the same except for the packaging.

Well I bought both Premium Book editions. Coming all the way from Spain so it'll be awhile. Came out to be about $82 in total.
