King of Kong Fistful of Quarters - Blu-ray Forum

Hi,

I was reading a thread about hidden good movies in the Netflix streaming and lots of people recommended King of Kong Fist Full of Quarters.

So... I watched it. It's great. Surely a must for anyone who enjoys classic gaming and even more so for people who were 10 or older in the early 80's.

I got it a few years ago via-netflix (before I really had anything capable of streaming)

I think it's hysterical..... The crack-team of "investigators" who come out to inspect a machine for tampering if a record was achieved at someone's home....... HYSTERICAL!

Not a half bad movie actually, but man Mr Mitchell and his cronies crack me up. Especially that 30 yo "dude" that tried to contain his jealous disappointment when Steve Weibe reached the first kill screen :O. I've never seen such subservient people to a "Donkey Kong" expert. "Billy made me the man I am today"

Loved this documentary. Absolutely terrific and I wish it would come out on Blu. Billy Mitchell sure is easy to hate.

If you guys like that one "Chasing Ghosts: Beyond the Arcade" is streaming on netflix now. Looks like it almost could have been filmed simultaneously as King of Kong/by the same guys as I think it uses some of the exact same footage.

Doesn't give you much new and in fact is probably less in depth overall but it is more about Ottumwa/the guy who ran twin galaxies/the players overall than about Bill Mitchell. So it came of more nostalgic for me than King, which I find hard to watch repeatedly without gritting my teeth every time Mitchell is being himself on screen.

I watched it recently too. I really enjoyed Chasing Ghosts. Felt like a nice companion piece to King of Kong.
