Saints Row 3, the third instalment of THQ's free-roaming crime 'em-up will release autumn 2011 said THQ CEO Brian Farrell in an earnings call today.

"Volition is setting a new bar for this outstanding franchise and we look forward to unveiling this game in the near future." Said Farrell.

"...In the Fall, we plan to launch the latest installment of our Saints Row franchise, which we view as a significant growth driver in fiscal 2012

Hulk Hogan Joins Saints Row Cast
And he's joined by an ex-porn star, too.

Volition has announced that Hulk Hogan will join the cast of Saints Row: The Third.

The wrestling legend will be joined by former porn star Sasha Grey, who recently appeared in Entourage and Steven Soderberg's The Girlfriend Experience.

Hogan will play Angel DeLaMuerte, a wrestler who teams up with the Saints in seeking revenge against an ex-tag team partner. Meanwhile, Grey will play one of the game's main antagonists as one of two sisters who run the Syndicate Empire.

Daniel Dae Kim, star of Lost, will reprise his role as Johnny Gat, the chief lieutenant of the Third Street Saints from Saints Row 2.

Hogan also has his own game on the horizon - Hulk Hogan's Main Event is due for Xbox 360 Kinect this fall. Listen to what Hogan had to say about it, when IGN spoke to him at E3.

How could you not like a game where you can beat someone to death with a giant dildo

The person playing in the video seemed to like attacking women just a little too much, and what's with the spaceship/futuristic jet fighter thing just randomly parked. And why can't I randomly find those things lying around in real life

Shame Sasha's character doesn't look more like her, it's close but they didn't appear to set out to recreate her in the game

Never played a SR game and come November I'll be knee deep in BF3 so it's an unlikely purchase for me this side of Christmas

Penthouse Pets to Appear in Saint's Row 3 DLC

Six 'Penthouse Pets' will appear in a downloadable DLC pack for Volition's Saints Row: the Third, says publisher THQ.

Heather Vandeven, Justine Joli, Heidi Baron, Shay Laren, Ryan Keely, and Nikki Benz will appear in the undated and unnamed DLC pack. Penthouse Pets are women who appear in erotic magazine Penthouse and find favor with that publication's readers.

THQ pitched the DLC announcement as an appointment of the six women to its QA team. "We personally handpicked this QA team based on a number of key factors: their passion for Saints Row; their sense of style and Saints Row attitude; and above all, their desire to give every player a unique, over-the-top, unforgettable experience," said lead producer Greg Donovan.

Ninja Gaiden creator playable in Saints Row The Third



Tomonobu Itagaki, a name which strikes fear into the heart's of even the most seasoned gamers. Creator of one of the hardest series of games known to man, Itagaki has just become a playable character in THQ's upcoming sandbox game that will be the greatest thing since Half-Life 2, Saints Row 3.

Whilst Itagaki will not be featured specifically as an NPC, a pre-existing model will be apart of the game's expansive character creation system. Unfortunately, this game is releasing at the wrong time. It's going to get overshadowed by Uncharted 3, MW3, AC: Revelations & Skyrim. They should have pushed this game back to early next year.
