I already have the 13-disc DVD tin set, and am in no hurry to upgrade.

I like the first and second films. I can tolerate the third, but absolutely hate the forth. Superman Returns, which is also in the DVD set isn't that bad though.

EDIT: Actually, I have just read this bit on Wiki and now I am not sure whether to upgrade to the blu-ray set or not. I don't know which version of the ultimate collection tin I have since I don't remember the year I bought it in, meaing I don't know if I have the recalled set, or reissued set.

I have The Christopher Reeve Superman Collection, nice DVD set. I'm sure I could be persuaded to upgrade if they give them a decent restoration. And by that I don't mean the easy way out, setting DNR to high and edge enhancement to compensate.

Same. Though I do love my Superman, I'll have to wait for the price first. There's already so much that I want in the next few months.

I've got the DVD tin as well, I can't remember if it's the faulty set or even if the UK 13 disc set was ever affected. I watch no.4 recently and really enjoyed it 3 was okay but almost seemed like a Richard Pryor vehicle. I love the original animated Fleischer 'toons. I wasn't too keen on the Donner cut as the theatrical cut is so ingrained in me it seemed off-putting. I'd love a bells and whistle BD set though as long as it was under £20....

Great news, i was going to buy the first Superman film, but i'll hold off now for the complete set, and hopefully a new transfer for 1 and 2.

does anyone know if Superman The Movie will get a lossless soundtrack - instead of the lossy DD 5.1 we got back in 2006?

As much as I love the first and second (inc. The Donner Cut), I'm no rush to own the others. Maybe I'll go for it when it hits the 'Bargain Basement'.

It is now up for pre-order in the UK!

June 13th release date.

And it's got a pre-order price of 40 pounds, which translates to $63!!

Looking forward to the US release. If not, I'll go to the UK.

Only 5 discs included with this boxset where as the DVD collection had 13, I'll be waiting to see what happens before buying this.

Yeah that really scares me as well.

Don't forget, there are two different versions of the original film in the original DVD boxed set as well.

Correct. The original theatrical version of Superman: The Movie is one of the reasons why I would want this since that was not included in the first bluray release.
