Point Break Blu-ray

Looks like Point Break will be re-released on blu-ray again this time by Warner Bros. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Point...Blu-ray/20848/

The original release was from Fox and was called the "Pure Adrenaline Edition" and it's currently OOP.

There is no word yet on special features on the upcoming blu release.

This was one of my faves from the 90's.

Sad that many buyers on sites like Ebay,etc. have no idea that this is being re-released, so they are paying high prices when they really don't have to.
This will most likely will happen when the the Casalanca and Lethal Weapon movies are pulled, the "average joe" will have no idea that new version is on the way, and the Ebay vultures will be charging redulculous prices for them.

+1 Fox's transfer was great.. i was very happy with the outcome.. but if studios see $$ if they make a true restoration and DNR one then so be it.. please everybody

I've never seen this film, but I remember it being hilariously featured in Hot Fuzz. Based on that alone, I've got to give this a rental sometime.

The new release will be from Warner. Best case scenario, it's basically the same disc. More likely, the encode will be "Warner-ized" with some filtering and some low bit rates.

Point Break is a Largo Film, must have switched rights. Another great Largo Film is Unlawful Entry starring Kurt Russell, Madeline Stowe and Ray Liotta, a blu release of that one would be nice too.

No double dip for me. I am happy with the Point Break Blu that I already have. "Unlawful Entry" on blu would be nice. Cool flick IMO.

Warner Bros and other companies should really just, like, not rush movies into being in released onto Blu, only to have them re-released because the quality was so poor on the previous one. TAKE YOUR TIME ON THEM.

Happy news. I missed out on buying it the first tine cause my friend wanted it and Target had one copy so I let him take it instead. Than I found out it was OOP....Hopefully we get something extra, but doubt it.

In times 1000 I love that show...Lost my dvd awhile back would love to upgrade...and unlawful entry...

I agree. I have Point Break and the transfer looks pretty damn good to me.

I second that. It's an old setup, but the cast is top shelf and the plotting is very well done. I'd also like to see Bad Influence on Blu ASAP!
