Universal Pictures Home Entertainment had first announced what we should expect yet "another" crappy DTV sequel titled Blue Crush 2. Sooner later, we find out how their keeping things fair and square when they decide to release the original 2002 film starring the gorgeously sexy Kate Bosworth and Michelle Rodriguez.

This is sure to look and sound outstanding on Blu-ray. Great scenery all around and the Dolby 5.1 track found on the DVD was extremely effective.

I hope BC comes with a slip. I wouldn't want my future copy of BC2 to feel so...blue crushy.

Agreed. Or at least make a slipbox with both movies in it.

Agreed...and Bosworth's tush will look glorious as well on blu-ray.

i doubt it will. Catalog titles RARELY come with slips

Love, love, love this movie!

Was so pissed when I saw BC2 and the next day was relieved to see Blue Crush, haha. I can't wait! Glad it officially has a date.

In this particular case, you're probably right. But I've gotten a ton of slipcovers from catalog titles. Among them The African Queen, Apocalypse Now, Saving Private Ryan, Minority Report, Dances with Wolves, Stargate, Fight Club, and Apollo 13 - just to name a few.

I was just thinking i would love to pick this up on Blu-ray only to find out it's not out yet.

This is one of my favorite movies and i want to own it in HD.

Just finished watching the Bluray, and I really love this film. Audio was amazing, but unfortunately the picture was not. Alot of DNR/EE which ruins alot of scenes, and I dont usually notice it.. And I fear this is not a big enough title to warrant a remaster either.
You might want to wait for an official review but I think/expect the PQ score will be low..

How would u grade the video and audio from 1 to 5?

Audio - 5/5
Video - 4 or 3.5/5 ?

i'm starting to think that Universal uses old hd masters that were used for DVDs on all (or almost all) of their catalog Blu-ray releases!

this is one of those films that i knew i had to have once it comes out on Blu but i agree that it's not a big enough title to warrant a remaster, but i'll just settle for it if i can get it for $10 or less

Here is a photo I took of the halo around edges which appear in alot of scenes. The picture is taken very close to the screen, so not a full screenshot, but you get the point.

Audio 4.5/5, video 2.5/5 perhaps. The halo/EE(?) was just soo distracting, and its there from the first frame to the last, in night scenes and day scenes. I dont usually notice this that much but here it was in your face..
Dont want to put anyone off buying it, love the film, we'll see how the pro's review it soon I hope
