just watched it yesterday and i though it was a pretty good one. cinematography was great.its a bit holywood here and there, not really history accurate and i dont give a crap about that. i love movies historical or not. a bit like a myth or a legend. only a little truth to start it and make it a bit surreal.

the dvd i own is pretty bad quality. full of artifacts, dust and crap.of course its grainy but it should not be removed.its beautifull. hey, its grain. it makes the movie look like a MOVIE.and grain is beautifull in bluray.

If they Blu-Ray it, I would buy it.

Not sure if they'd bother cleaning/restoring it for high-def, but as long as they don't DNR it or use a really crummy master, a sharp picture will do it justice.
