It depends on what you mean. When you setup the PS3 for the first time it will ask you a series of questions and it will try and check the video settings automatically.

How is your PS3 connected to your TV? HDMI or component?

Depending on how its connected, you can make the picture and sound quality much better then default settings.

It's been a year since the PS3 was released, but TechBugTV and gametrailers.com have just figured out that you can tweak two settings to make the visual look not "washed out"&m—the main complaint people have when comparing PlayStation 3 graphics to Xbox 360 graphics on the same game. All you have to do is go to your RGB settings and change "Limited" to "Full", then flip the "super-white" setting to "On" on TVs that support it. Even though YouTube's vid quality looks somewhere between horrible and insanely horrible, you can still tell the difference in colors.

Also, from personal experience, do not use VIVID when watching Blu-Ray. You loose a lot of color and many of the factory settings are unbalanced, so you lose picture quality.

Ill have to search for some awesome settings that ive been tempering with.

What would happen to the picture if I changed the Range to Full but didn't change the super white settings? I'm not sure if my TV supports the super white.

rgb full only works when on rgb, super white only works when set to Y Pb/Cb Pr...so it doesnt matter.
