I don't know due, I wouldn't be surprised. Anchor Bay is the master of shamelessly getting people to double and triple dip by releasing progressively more souped up editions of their DVDs. This set is just inexpensive enough where they may expect consumers to throw down more money if they release the "definitive" collection with hours of extra features and newly recorded audio commentaries...

I do think their might be a slight risk of Season 1 and Season 2 being put together in one set when Season 2 makes it to Blu. If only because 6 episodes isn't a lot, and having both in one set will drive new buyer sales. But that's questionable. |

very dissapointed so far
SPOILERS Episode 1 was fantastic, i loved the shots of him wandering outside and seeing the desolate town and bodies strewn everwhere but within only 5 episodes he already managed to find his wife and kid, a whole other band of survivors ,and trek to the CDC to find a cure basically they are just moving too fast. they should have spent more time on him discovering the extent to which the destruction has spread, some survival on his own, etc etc maybe thats just me though oh and the episode Vatos was real bad. the whole latino street gang protecting elderly home was just laughable and so out of place, and what was the point in developing that when its likely we will NEVER see them again |

As I mentioned in my other post, everything that happened in Season 1 happened in the first 8 or 9 issues of the comic. The comic is currently somewhere between issues 80-90. If you'd read the comics, you would know that this is barely the beginning.

Add to me to the list that
A) loves the show And B) watched it all in one sitting ![]() What a wonderful show! So glad I blind bought this for $23 and didn't wait for a price drop. This was well worth the money. Excellent, excellent show. More tension, terror, and scares that 90% of horror movies combined. Love it! |

Yes, "Volumes". No way issues are worth $15. The massive 1000 page Compendium is around $30 (of course it retails for twice that).

Haha you're library is awesome. It came down to me giving myself an ultimatum between the two high profile post-apocalyptic series. Y: The Last Man or The Walking Dead. I took the superficial route and went with the one that's in color. And lucky for me the other one became a hit TV show, while there are talks of a Y The Last Man movie. I'll visit the comic series eventually.

I posted it a few pages ago, but it seems to have been lost under the sea of replies, so I'll post it again.. this is the quickest way to get caught up to the comics:
[Show spoiler] So for the compendium, book 5, book 6 and Vol 13, it's about $85. Very expensive, but the series is so good. I'm on book 6 now, so I'm not too far behind! |

Hate to be "the bad guy" in this thread, but I blind bought this based on the reviews here and I'm more than disappointed so far after suffering through the first episode. I'm blown away at how many plot holes, ridiculous events, and blatant inconsistencies there were in the writing that I can't imagine watching any more episodes unless a miracle occurs and logic is somehow inserted into the proceedings. I love zombie/living dead/virus-infected types of movies, but in just the first hour I can't get past the sheer stupidity of the writing.
This is just my personal opinion and I don't mean to offend anyone that feels contrary to me. I simply find it difficult to enjoy any screenplay that lacks basic common sense and has little to no attention to detail. I will watch the rest of the episodes with an open mind and hope for the best. |

I didn't post my opinion about the first episode in an attempt to be radically opposed to the positive consensus that is clearly prevalent throughout this thread. I merely stated my opinion of what I observed in just a single episode. Like I said, I will watch it again, post my findings under spoiler tags, and see what people think.
Please be patient, I will watch it later today, and present all of the logical inconsistencies in full detail for those that feel somewhat threatened by my take on the show. Last edited by Ray O.
