I have this same player and may be able to help you. Are you able to attach an ethernet cable from your modem or router directly to the player to test for certain functionalities? I'm asking because it could be a problem with the wireless connection or specifically with Viera Cast. |

Well can you temporarily move the player over by the modem/router and attach it to a smaller TV for testing?

You would then attach the ethernet cable, reboot your router and/or modem and set-up the player in the wired network mode (not wireless mode). It will acquire the IP address and self-test the connection. If everything is "Pass" (ok) then you try to access Viera Cast.
Then we discuss further depending on what happens. By the way, what is your Internet situation? Do you have cable Internet, or DSL, or what? Are you using a router? |

Cable and I am useing a Router Modem combo given to me by my Provider, They wont change any settings on the router nor will they let me have any access. Panasonic says its a Port issue. Right now the player says it is connected and passes all the tests, I was even able to update the firmware.

I would still try the wired test.
In the meantime, have you tried power-cycling the modem and router and then again set-up the player connection? Another thing to try: Instead of pressing the Viera Cast button, try working from the on screen menu where it says "Network". Highlight that and then press "OK". It's another way to get to Viera Cast. |

Try power-cycling (literally removing the electrical plug from the outlet) both the router and the modem.

I had a thought that maybe you could use your computer monitor to do a wired test on your player. Does your monitor accept HDMI or video input?

Look here for a long list of FAQs that are specific for this model. You might find something in there.
Also check this... Quote:
Is the firmware version displayed in the Menu the latest version which is 1.56? |

Ok, DCHP is turned on in all three spots in the menu.
It Passes all the tests, the firmware is 1.56 and the wireless module is 1.50. I have to reenter the My Wep code everytime I shut the system off and restart. Inthe page the pops up sayin its connected there is a note that says your Lan Security is low. |

I presume that you are still unable to connect to Viera Cast, right?
I'm reaching the ends of my ability to help you. I don't use wireless with my player and the many details of a successful wireless connection and the settings for it are mostly foreign to me. For this I can only help in the most general ways. I strongly suggest that you slowly and methodically go through all of those FAQs which I linked for you. Many of those are for solving the specific problem of not being able to connect with Viera Cast in a wireless situation. Were you ever able to connect with Viera Cast, or not at all since you got the player? |
