does anyone know why Criterion won't release their two Robert Altman films, SHORT CUTS and 3 WOMEN on BD? They've done just about every title in their catalogue except these. I've emailed them for 18 months with no reply

Still, it would be good to have those two Altman films on Blu-ray. However, '3 Women' is a Fox-owned title (although they licensed it to Criterion for DVD release), so maybe we should be asking them about it first. |

Since Paramount is currently licensing out popular movies like Rosemary's Baby to Criterion, I bet Nashville would be a good candidate for the Criterion treatment. I could see MGM licensing out The Long Goodbye.
I have a strange fascination with Altman's "failures." I'd love to have movies like Buffalo Bill and the Indians, Quintet, Popeye, The Gingerbread Man, The Company, etc. on blu-ray. |
