Default Drive-in OR Regular Theater

Do you remember the first movie you ever saw??

Did you ever go to Drive in theater-if so than do you remember what movie it was.

Did you go with friends, family what are your memories of a drive-in theater?

My first movie i saw was:

The Last Starfighter

My first Drive-in movie was:

BATMAN

I remember going to see batman with my brother and our friends i remember we had a sort of double feature that night batman on one screen while down on the other side they were playing gremlins.

Do you think they should bring back the drive-in theater vote in the above poll.

The drive in is cool more so for enjoyment and just getting out. U cant really get into or enjoy a film as u can in the theater or at home. I have had my share of fun at the drive-ins over the years though. Havnt been in a long time though. I dont prefer it anymore at all. I saw Silent Rage, Half Baked, Scream 2, Halloween and maybe a couple others at the drive-in. Got Em!!

I used to go to the drive in quite a bit when I first started dating my fiancé and I got my license. Now I don't go at all I think the last time was maybe three years ago. I think it's fun but they rarely have two good movies together plus half the time it's a bit too light out during the beginning of the first movie to really see it. I also work weekends so that takes going back right out of the equation. As for first movie I think it was A Bugs Life with something else and I saw it with my parents.

The first movies I saw in the Drive-ins was a double feature of:
E.T. & Wildcats

The last was:
The Ruins & Jumper

I personally love the drive-ins. So many good memories & fun. Granted how comfortable your car & the quality of your sound system has an impact.

If I still lived in a state with drive-ins I would still totally go....

I used to love the drive-in experience. Hiding as many people as you could fit in the trunk of your car and that crappy little speaker you hooked to your window. We don't have any around anymore. I would love to see them make a comeback. Oh, and my first movie was the original Poseidon Adventure at a drive-in.

I remember those days. I was the kid hiding in the trunk lol.

No drive-ins in my area anymore, either. The first movie I saw in a drive-in was Star Wars, but even at that time the first movie plex had already opened in the area where I grew up in Southern Cali so that became the norm. I think the last movie I saw at a drive-in was The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I personally don't miss the drive-in, but sometimes I think sitting in your own car to watch a movie on a crappy sound system might be better than having to deal with people's lack of respect these days in movie theaters.

This is another reason drive-ins were cool. You could be as obnoxious as you wanted and you wouldn't disturb anyone. Plus it was fun to watch people come back from the snack shack and forget where they parked.

Lol... classic. I completely forgot about that. Another good memory. It always happened, and more than once each visit.

I remember seeing 3 movies at the drive-in before ours closed down. The first was The Rocketeer/Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey double feature and the last movie I remember seeing was The Flintstones (the live action one). I think there was another movie after the Flintstones, but I don't remember what it was.

What ever happened to the 150 foot wide screens that accompanied the drive ins? It's a different beast, more about being with people than a smaller group of people, savoring the high contrast image in a dark home theater.

This just reminded of a drive-in trip when I was 11. My Marine brother fresh out of boot camp took me to see The Empire Strikes Back. He tasked me with picking up the pizza, and with his crew cut and grunting I wasn't gonna complain. While I didn't get lost going back to his truck, I slipped and fell and dropped the pizza box and somehow managed to get little rocks/sand on the pizza. I'm sure that was a joy for all the people to watch in their cars lol. Of course my brother wasn't happy.

The only movie I’ve seen was The Empire Strikes Back. I thought it was cool to attach that thingy to the antanae to have the sound come through the stereo. With the killer systems in our vehicles nowadays, wouldn’t that be awesome again?

I voted yes but I remember some great experiences in the last years of the drive-in (70's as a young kid and 80's as a teenager). With that said the actually movie watching left much to be desired.

I like the drive in. It's hard to beat 2 movies for under 10 dollars and watching a movie there is a cool experience. I wish there was one closer to me so I could go there more often. The closest one is over an hour away.
