Default Rare Blu-rays?

The other day I saw Shooter, Flags Of Our Father and Tomb Raider all on Blu for $35 and over. Are they rare and should I buy them as collector's items or just skip them till Paramount comes back?

Any other rare Blu-ray titles out there including Blu exclusive ones?

Dont think Flags Of Our Fathers is rare, Shooter is deleted (here in the UK at least), and would anyone really want Tomb Raider?

Led Zeppelin Song Remains the Same would be considered a rare blu title.. since only a few actually made it to store shelves. Before it was cancelled.

How often does anyone see Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. I know it's not discontinued but I rarely see that title anywhere.

I would wait until Paramount comes back. The more popular titles of that haul (The Italian Job, Mission Impossible I-III, Black Snake Moan, etc.) are pretty hard to come by now.

You can still buy the individual MI titles and Black Snake Moan at amazon.com for regular price. The MI box set is rare.

It's hard to find, but it pops up every now and then. I got mine from BestBuy. Video quality is ok at best, but the audio is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!! I highly reccomend it!

I was able to grab one one e-bay for $21, thank goodness I did, because they are now going for around $50 or more.

I still haven't seen Elton 60 at any local stores. My son ordered it for me from DeepDiscountDVD.com for Christmas but it is still back ordered.

I never saw Trading Places anywhere, even on line but a week before Christmas my local FYE had a copy which I quickly scooped up.

It's kind of fun that some of them are rare.

I wonder if there will be any changes to the Paramount titles when the come back. It would be fun if the cover art changed for example making the discs before the Paramount mistake more rare.

I picked up several of the Paramounts and the Led Zep. I bet my NIN Blu Ray sampler is on the rare side too just by nature of it being promotional. I would love to have poltergeist.

Sellers on Amazon are asking between 60-100 bucks for Shooter.

So why is AC-DC so hard to find? Did it get pulled as well?

By the way, Elton 60 can be obtained from Amazon for $16.99 I believe. Blu Ray ofcourse.

More accurately, they are out-of-print. As a result they are priced higher. They are not "rare" in the sense of a rare book being something a dealer may come across once a year (scarce) to once in a lifetime (rare).

Scarce would be a better word, meaning the supply is less than the demand. Blu-rays are manufactured in the tens-to-hundreds of thousands. I don't think that they will be truly valuable in the collector's sense. Not for a long, long while. They are mass-produced. Neither are they released in "limited editions" (trad. meaning 1,500 copies or less). A true limited edition usually has numbered the copies. Blu-rays are not collector's investments, as such. They are just personal investments.
