Default Just bought a PS3, any recommendations?

Hello, like the title said, I got a 160GB PS3 slim, already ordered Uncharted I (number II came free with the console) and Heavy Rain. I play lots of genres, so if anyone has any recommendations I'm all ears

You're starting off well with Uncharted I and II. Both of those are great.

My reccomendations:
  • God of War trilogy
  • Dead Space (haven't played part II yet, but I've heard it is good)
  • Killzone 3
  • Resident Evil 5
  • Bioshock I and II
  • Beatles: Rock Band (because it is the Beatles)
  • Batman: Arkham Asylum
  • Star Wars: The Force Unleashed Ultimate Sith Edition (The Ultimate Sith Edition has additional levels. The Force Unleashed I was pretty fun, but part II was way too short and easy in my opinion)

Thank you, I already own both Dead Space, Bioshock and Batman: AA for PC, but I'll keep an eye out for those.

Do you have a list of games you had/played for previous gen systems? If I know what genres/dev styles you're into I can make better recs.

List looks big on FPS, so maybe Killzone or Resistance might be your thing.

You could try Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Hard, but rewarding. I also approve of Resident Evil 5 and SIlent Hill Homecoming. For action, I'll add Heavenly Sword. It's short, but the attack system is very fun, and has amazing graphics.

If you're looking to branch out a bit: there's Katamari Forever for a trippy/humorous challenge. jRPGs are getting to be more prevalent on PS3 as well. You have Final Fantasy 13, Disgaea 3-4 (not mention many other NIS titles like Atelier, Cross Edge, Ar Tonelico, Hyperdimension Neptunia, Last Rebellion), Demon's Souls, and more.

Not sure if you do music games, but I have Rock Band and hundreds of songs for it.

Nothing, cuz psSux has no games. Also, the two Uncharteds, Heavy Rain, God of War 3, and Red Dead Redemption. I love LBP2 and Mod Nation Racers. I also liked Killzone 2 and 3, Resistance 1 and 2, Rachet & Clank (both), and Motorstorm, though that might be a little dated. Infamous was excellent, and Demon's Souls was good if you're a masochist. I like Folklore, but I have no idea if it's still in the wild. Ninja Gaiden Sigmas were great games as well.

I am fairly new here so I do not know almost anyone and I had no idea if he was being sarcastic or just a troll, but if it was the second one I'll just ignore it, pointless to argue over the internet

Well you are starting off with the two best games this generation in Uncharted I and II.

Just remember there are tons of demo's to try out, tons of them! Also watch videos on the web be to get an idea on a game you are thinking of. Plus there is a huge backlog of games that are dirt cheap now.

Motorstorm you can get it for $5, it is hard but amazing. or go to the sequel Pacific Rift, I kind of like the original better but Pacific Rift is good and also has split screen.

Resistance: Fall of Man is fantastic (graphically a bit dated)
Killzone 2 (pretty much the pinnacle of FPS's) Try out the demo for this and Killzone 3

Wipeout HD if you like very intense racing
Demon's Soul's if you like action RPG's, the atmosphere is amazing, but it will also suck an insane amount of hours from you. This is a game you have to invest time into to enjoy and you might be suffering the first few hours as it is hard to start.

Lego Star Wars: Complete Sage is worth owning, especially if you have younger kids to play with.

I would, but I usually use my ps3 to post on here and you can only put icons on the end. Just wanted to see if anyone would notice. If you see my collection, I have more than 60 ps3 games, so, yeah, I was just joking around. The rest of the post was real, though, I completely recommend all the games I mentioned.

I think the OP was looking for good games, not some rehashed b.s. with a new year stamped on it. No offense

-Metal Gear Solid 4
-Uncharted I & II
-Heavy Rain
also found a deal down here for Killzone 2, just have to go and pick it up, getting tired of playing demos XD though I loved the Little Big Planet demo, that'll be my next purchase next month
