Have you ever frozen your spending habits for an entire month? Iam making April a spend free month this year. I want to see how long this experiment will last. Im not going to eat out or buy new clothes, shoes, games, BD, etc...

I've lost a lot of weight plus someone recently jacked a lot of my shirts so I have to buy new clothes. I don't eat out much at all any more due to my diabetes but I still buy a decent amount of blus.

I'm probably going to do that in June and possibly July lol. But I am cutting back alot this month. One videogame (Mortal Kombat/ PS3) and one concert (Amon Amarth) are the only extra things I'm spending money on this month. And in May I'm going on a short trip to Portland, Ore. so my spending hiatus will have to wait until June.

I'm looking at four BDs in April...

A.I.
The Incredibles
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1
The King's Speech

And maybe a new BD player?

Wow that really sucks that someone took your clothes. I have a really particular wardrobe and would be steamed if something was taken without my permission. I get frustrated when socks go missing from the wash.

I try this every four months or so. It usually lasts about a few weeks.

I find when you get something right away, you watch it then think, well I still have the rest of the month to kill. What to do now? Ordering online especially from the USA helps slow down purchasing frequency greatly for me since I know something is on it's way and that I've already comitted funding to something. Granted my spending is absolutely meager regardless compared to the norm here but still.

You're hired! And by "eating out" I meant actually going to a sit down restaurant for dinner. Fast food is still an option or having some drinks with my friends at the local pub.

I did that for January of this year, when there was jack squat on the release calendar.

i always think of doing this and think, "if i just spend money on bills, groceries, gas and other absolute essentials, how much would i actually be saving from each check?"

and then i think, "who cares? i really don't" and then i spend a bunch of money

but i couldn't do that for April! Taxi Driver, The Incredibles... those alone are absolute must haves, and day 1 to boot, so if i would do this, chances are i would have to wait until next January or February when releases generally suck.

but otherwise i have a spending problem and always find something stupid to spend money on - random ass magazines, food, toys, odd gadgets, all sorts of things that i don't need, but hey, if i have the money burning in my pocket lol

I just did that experiment, starting from the last week of December until the end of January. This was the first time I've held off buying BDs for a month ever since I got my first BD. Next time I'll try two months.

Well, all me tax money is spent up.

However, vasectomies ARE on the rise this month so......this might be something I might consider.

so i guess "toys" was a bad word. should have said, "figurines" i guess
