It's like this, there's a good chance I will be getting a raise and a bonus next month, and the ? is what to spend it on.
In all, between released and announced titles, there's about 47 blu-ray movies I plan on owning soon. I been excited about them since I saw high-def football on my TV. With that in mind, I've considered spending my influx of cash to get a new stereo, grab a PS3, and get anything on my Blu-Ray hitlist available now. My other thought was to hold off on this until later in the year and just spend it a long list of PS2/GC/GBA/DS games I've been meaning to play. Given the forum we're on, I think its obvious what ppl will say, but there's one other thing I need to know first; My TV is Toshiba 52HM84 HDTV. It can display 720p or 1080i on the HDMI channel, but not 1080p. Knowing that, should I wait until I get a 1080p capable TV before diving into the Blu-Ray scene, or is that not so big a deal. |

honestly, it's not a big deal (the t.v. that is). personally, i'd get the ps3 and a few games and a few movies. make it a happy medium.

If the screen is less than 40" there is no difrence between 720p and 1080p,and if screen is bigger than that it does not make any difference unless you are be viewing TV from atleast 15 ft

That all being said. 1080I still looks very good on a 52 in. I have a 51S500 Hitachi (51in instead of 52, but close) and things are crystal clear. When I do upgrade to a 1080p it will just give me an excuse to go back and watch all the movies again.

Given all this, I may get my hi-def movie fix before Spring. I'll hold on any new TVs until next year, but it's time I revamped the audio. I've had a 2-channel setup since 1996; my new stereo will be 7.1/PCM capable.
I got news of my exam raise today ![]() |
