Default Chances of 24 series coming to blu?

I have four favorite shows... Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office, and 24.

24 would be an awesome series to have on blu. It's got to be the greatest action series EVER!!! It wouldn't make sense not to bring it to blu-ray and it certainly would be so wrong!

You think this could be coming to blu anytime soon?

Hopefully but sadly I don't think it will because Fox is more concerned with movies at this point.

But then again, the quality of those seasons 7 and 8 transfers were not that great...

I own seasons 1-7 on DVD and have yet to see season 8 (I really, really need to)... Should I just buy the DVD if the transfer for 8 wasn't any good?

Might as well have all of them on DVD until they all go to blu, I guess.

I love this series...I'd imagine we may get something when the movie comes out. I haven't picked up season 8 yet because of the chance of the complete box set.

While on this subject, how was season 8? I thought season 7 was the weakest of them all, so hopefully 8 was better.

I think the whole woman as the President deal is dumb.

No spoilers, please... though I have an idea of what may happen.

'Woman as President deal is dumb'? I hope you're not saying that the fact they had a woman as a president is inherently problematic?

I didn't mind season 8. I preferred it to seasons 6 and 7 (6 is most definitely the worst season they ever did). Generally I think it got really stale after season 5, and that's still true for season 8. The same old twists and stock characters, but there were some exciting bits that weren't bogged down by the lousy villains season 7 had. They seemed to think getting someone famous (Jon Voight) and an old character (Tony) would automatically be exciting in season 7, but I didn't think they did much exciting with them. I always liked President Taylor and think Cherry Jones does a great job, as does the actress playing Renee. Season 8 did, however, feature Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff in a really terrible role which, again, was ridiculously derivative of loads of other 24 characters in the past.

Maybe I'm not the best person to ask actually. I mainly watched 24 out of habit and nostalgia in the end, and have serious problems with its politics at times.

That's exactly what I'm saying.

I kid, I kid. But honestly, without getting too far into politics, every woman presidential candidate so far has been an extremist moron.

And for a TV series... yes, a woman president is stupid. I absolutely hate the "Madam President" title... and I seriously doubt the president is addressed as Mr. (or Madam) President every single damn time. That bothers me too. There's just no way that every time a white house employee addresses the President, they say "Mr. President." (especially when they're good friends)

7 was by far the worst IMO. Not even close. 6 was better. To each their own though.

I thought the last few seasons were awful, but I really like seasons 1-5 and I thought season 5 was the strongest from start to finish.

Well it's been a while since I've seen either I guess. I remember liking season 6 at the beginning but the whole thing with
[Show spoiler]his family
was just ridiculous. They're both pretty bad though, I think I prefer season 8 to both.

Agreed with above poster about season 5 - it was a really consistent season and had fantastic performances from the actors who played the president and his wife. Definitely one of the best.

I rather enjoyed season 7 myself, far from the worst season (season 6, my opinion but would still buy it on blu because I love the show). As for season 8 was really disappointed in the first half of the season but the 2nd half was enjoyable.

BRING SEASONS 1-6 OF 24 ON BLU DAMNIT!
I already have 7 & 8

You have terrible opinions. She was one of the strongest characters 24 had and season 7 was on par with the 5th season for greatness. I thought these were commonly acknowledged opinions, but there always has to be someone...

I may agree with you about President Taylor, but haha, 'commonly acknowledged opinions'... so someone who doesn't share them is just being difficult?

I know I don't think season 7 is on par with season 5, I know it was supposed to breathe new life into the series after the awful season 6, and after being delayed for a year, but ended up being the same old 24. I consider the last 3 seasons all pretty stale, but 8 was more exciting than 7 if you ask me, even if it was far from perfect.
[Show spoiler]The only exciting bit was the admittedly ridiculous siege on the White House. The stuff with Tony and the main villain and Taylor's daughter was really dull.

Great collection you have there... so similar to mine plus some.

I went to collection matcher and you were the top match for me. Congrats!

I'd buy series one and five on blu but I wouldn't touch the others. Six jumped the shark as far as I was concerned and seven and eight seemed like tired retreads for the pension fund
