Default The Official VHS Thread

Ohh I think we need one of these. We have a LaserDisc thread so why not one for the late/great VHS? Who here still watched VHS? I know I sure do! There are just too many great films, cartoons, tv shows, etc never released to LaserDisc, DVD, or Blu-ray not to. I know I'm treading on thin ice here and just asking for the PQ snobs to crucify me.

Default Is that a tape?

I have some music compiles on VHS...

The Firm - Five From The Firm
Robert Plant - Mumbo Jumbo
Warrant - Cherry Pie Quality You Can Taste

I also have the complete Playboy Playmate Profiles VHS issues [four per tape] that were sold back in the early 2000's. I think there were 20 odd volumes...

Then there's the odd TV flick that hasn't made it to either DVD or likely never on Blu Ray.

There's a bunch of old horror movies on VHS that never made it dvd or blu-ray. I'd love to grab a player and a box of tapes for a VHS horror marathon.

Nut.

I have a bunch of things on video that I'll prob. dub to DVD eventually. I know Amazon has some VHS to DVD machines for fairly reasonable prices.

I rarely watch mine now, though I do have the entire Batman: Adam West TV show in VHS (recorded from TV).

I remember how easy it was to over-ride the VHS tapes. Put a little tape over where the flap would be and Bingo, recordable VHS.

I had a ton of them myself, and thought I would like to do the same thing. When I say ton, that ton translated into too much work.

Even when my wife was packing things up to move, she had a lot of VHS's, I mistakenly lost that box... lol

[Show spoiler]I just have a few personal home made porn VHS's, that’s in a few old boxes laying around.

I think you should visit the trading thread!

I still have several VHS tapes. I remember how I used to make sure they were letterbox or else I refused to buy them! I had a 19" TV and watching letterboxed VHS movies was a challenge on the eyes, especially, the panavision (2.40:1) letterboxed movies!!

We need a Beta thread. I still have about 100 movies in Beta, including the classic Deep Throat.

I am sure it is worth a lot of money.

Oh my...I've never even experienced Beta. That is a load of tapes. I don't know of anyone who even has one.

Next up elsewhere...the 8 track cassette!
