Default Any info on when/if Titanic might hit Blu-ray?

My lady friend is very anxious for this title on BR. Is there any word on when and if this will hit the format anytime soon?

I wouldn't have my hopes set to high for a release anytime soon. I think the SE DVD is the best were gonna see it for a few years (maybe the 15th Anniversary!). But it would be awesome to have this in 7.1 uncompressed sound.

No idea when it will be available, but I'd buy it for certain if it became available early enough. I've never bought it on DVD because they took too long to release a decent version so I'm waiting for the Blu-ray version instead.

Actually, Titanic was co-financed by FOX and Paramount. I just pulled the DVD off my shelf and it looks as if Paramount has the DVD distribution rights as I see a url on the back cover read: www.paramount.com/homevideo.

This is unfortunate, as Paramount doesn't include uncompressed tracks on their HD releases.

it's distributed by Paramount in North America and by FOX in the rest of the world, so if you don't like the Paramount version you can buy the import FOX one instead

i have just sold my DVD version (after creating a back up of course eve though still owning the original VHS version) and i desperately would love to see this on BR.
i hope we dont have to wait for a 15th anniversay version as isnt this year the tenth year? (i'm hoping the OP is wrong and its '98 that it came out as i'm sure i was in year ten when it came out, which would make it '98)
if its '98 then i'm sure they could release a good BR version

DIE LEO DIE!

Sorry.. I just hate that movie. Inaccurate to history, stupid characters, and I just don't like Leo in it.

I think it was 98. I remember because I started high school in 98 and everyone in my grade was talking about Titanic.
