4 times (4x) and 6 times (6x) the standard reference speed (1x)

1x is 36Mbps (4.5MBps)
2x is 72Mbps (9MBps)
4x is 144Mbps (18MBps)
6x is 216Mbps (27MBps)

BD-Video requires a 1.5x speed BD-ROM drive (54Mbps - 6.75MBps)

DVD Rom's were slower than sin when they first came out and then they evolved.

Same will be true here. Technology comes out and then gets improved upon and evolves over time. Be a little patient.
