"Restrepo" Director Killed in Libya

wow, terrible news just breaking today.
the director of the Oscar nominated documentary Tim Hetherington was killed in Misrata today.
incredible the bravery of some of these photo-journalists; we don't think enough
about the real danger they often come up against.

Just saw that on CNN and was going to post. That's war, it doesn't discriminate between guilty and innocent. RIP

I can still appreciate what this guy died doing. Decades ago these two-bit dictators like Ghadafi could crush revolts with relative ease with the outside world barely even noticing. These days with the internet, global news, Youtube, Facebook and twitter the entire world knows what is happening over there and chances are he'll fall from power just like all the other dominoes that collapsed around him. These guys don't stand a chance in an age where global media captures their every move.

Very sad. I go on to cnn.com just a few moments ago and I see that news, as well as the top legal news of the day being that a woman was savagely beaten in a divorce hearing in chambers, at the courthouse I work at and in front of a judge I'm familiar with and saw the day after the incident. Crazy stuff.
