Default 42" VT30B (UK version) review @ hdtvtest

http://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/panas...1104231092.htm

so 0.004 fL black levels on this 42" VT30B. They improved by adding 10-pt grayscale + gamma adjustment controls as well as CMS controls and improved the motion resolution to 1080 without enabling any settings (2010's needed Blur Reduction at On to get full 1080, otherwise they see 900 lines)

we’re a little disappointed to see that the same brightness shifting issues that we spotted on the G30 and GT30 series are present to some degree on the VT30.
Not happy to read that, but overall a pretty impressive review, sounds like a sweet tv. Looking forward to a 65" review.

Neither was I but the 0.004fL has to be the best after the kuro which come in at 0.000fL to 0.001fL. I have faith that panny will get there soon and fix the floating black issue. Look at my crappy HT pics and you can see what 0.000fL looks like. With infinite contrast stuff looks similar to 3D because thing are basically floating on the screen. Most people have never experienced kuro contrast. I'm glad to see a review on the VT!

Some 500m/101's have been calibrated to .0004fL

Not quite the glowing review that most were hoping for. Especially the part were it says something like - If you want a TV that's free of these quirks you might as well look for a second hand Kuro.
Still, they "highly recommend" this set.

I think almost all review sites have to give some positive/recommendation since if they trash a set in a review, there goes any future review samples from the manufacturer.

Is the .0005 supposed to be half of the 0.001? Or was it a miss type? Cause Ive seen with my own eyes 9G Kuros including the 500M do 0.000 to 0.001. My 5020 & 111 have a 0.000 fL My 151 has a 0.001 fL so did the 500M but I think my buddy should of put more hours on before that Calibration. I know that 500M could do 0.000fL. Cause his friends 500M has a 0.000fL , which I saw also. The fL on Kuros will be different depending on room lighting and just the display it's self. My two 50" are in complete dark rooms , not even a window. Either way they are all badace. When a review of a 65" VT comes out it should be a very good read. I don't watch SD but it's nice to see that the panny handles it really well. The Kuro sucks as far as SD goes lol. I'm going to check them out when Magnolia gets them in.

Yes that's correct. .000 fL that you mentioned just had the 4th decimal cut off most likely.

Aside from the Pioneer ECC prototype, the 500m/101 has the lowest MLL of any plasma. Dnice has measured them at .0004fL. I've yet to see an MLL measurement that's been lower.

Dnice is great but not the only game in town. Your 101 in the right room and depending on the panel should knock out a 0.000 or 0.001fL or how u guys put it .0000 / .0001. Or maybe im leaving out a zero in mine (0.0001)? Dobyblue always corrects me cause i seem to leave a zero out sometimes Anyway Like ive said I've seen it on my own displays and several others that are friends of mine, no bullshite. I'm not on here to make stuff up to impress anyone. I just know what I've seen with my own eyes. I respect and appreciate every member on this site. It's back to bed for me. Night.

I don't believe even the VT25 came in that size.

Yeah it sucks that this year the GT30 comes in 50" as smallest size and the VT30 comes in 55" as the smallest size in the north america. Not sure why, but it probably has to do with them not making enough money selling the smaller versions.
