United Kingdom Is Sendit.com a good, reliable site?

I want to pre-order The Walking Dead from them and are wondering if they're good?

Also, I want to apologise to everyone I spammed today. It was a really twatty thing to do. I got a little over excited with the whole "You get £5 for inviting people to PriceMinister" deal so went a little mad. Sorry everyone. Won't happen again!

"We all go a little mad sometimes."

So sorry about that!

Not really. They're part of the same group as Zavvi and The Hut. Speaking from experience, they're all shit.

It really depends. I've ordered two times from Zavvi:

1. One Blu-ray: took 1 month!
2. A DVD box set: took 2 weeks.

So it's pretty unstable. Sometimes you order and they can't find any stock to ship so you have to wait a while.

Never had a single issue with Zavvi, and you can't beat their prices.

I just bought Le Ballon Rouge from them on Monday, and got it in my mailbox 4 days later across the Channel. Usually their delivery time is down to a week. Can't vouch for other destinations though.

I'd pre-order from HMV or Play.com, you'll get it a few days before release, always found these two sites the best for pre-orders. Amazon very poor for pre-orders - doesn't dispatch until day before release.

Worth mentioning that their prices don't include postage, remember to include that as some of their prices seem good but then work out more expensive.

Worked out at just under £20. Ordered it. Still works out at the cheapest you can get it, if you know what I mean.

Thanks for your help everyone

My first couple of orders went through without a problem with Zavvi. Then the next 3 or 4 were heavily delayed then cancelled at their end. I chanced my arm with them again last week and ordered a PS3 game that got delivered.

First order with The Hut, no problem. The next 2 got cancelled by them.

Sendit.com, first order cancelled.

IMHO, when it comes to online retailers Play.com are head and shoulders infront EVERYTIME.

Both my orders with Zavvi were shipped for free to Canada.

I use thehut.com and zavvi.com and never had an order ship late and always had it early.

The other sites runned buy thehut group (that is including sendit) have been hit and miss as to weather it is shipped early or late.

Play.com, tesco-entertainment and hmv.com are reliable sources I order from as well.

Amazon jersey partner ships early and is reliable (using the supersaver free shipping) but when it states shipped from amazon.co.uk I never order unless the price is to good to be true cause they never ship ontime unless you select their first class or amazon prime and I refuse to pay to have it shipped and on my door step when I get that a standard from else where including their partners.

Possibly used to be. They used to be a lot cheaper with faster service, but it's seems to be going the other way these last few years.

As far as general ordering (I'm excluding pre-orders here as I rarely, if ever pre-order), I'd say Amazon are the king, definitely. They even give you the Amazon Prime delivery trial every year or so for a whole month free too I believe (I've had 2 months free over the last couple years).

I've only ordered from Zavvi a few times but never had a problem, and always received the item in under a week.

The only online retailer that I'd genuinely recommend avoiding is Bee as they seem to just reseal second hand copies and pass them off as new - albeit at great prices, but if they're going to dupe people on their items, then I don't want to know what their customer support will be like.

I'd say The Hut group, Play and Amazon are all reliable online retailers. The Hut do seem to take an extra day or two with their delivery, but as long as it arrives in new condition and is as cheap as many of their items then I can't really complain.

Play.com once posted a digital camera to my mum in a flimsy plastic bag... relying solely on the cameras box..

It's a discussion about the reliability of the sites and companies in general, go eat a Kit-Kat.

In that case then. The next time you buy a digital camera and find the cheapest price, don't expect it to be sent in a gold casket couriered by an armoured guard. MEEEOW!!!
