Default Anyone who still has a Magnavox player (Profile 1.1)

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone here still had a magnavox profile 1.1 Player. I'm not having issues with my player, and in fact, it's still solid as a rock. I just wanted to know if it was able to output PCM via Optical. I considered putting it in the living room, but in order to be compatible with the sound bar I have, it needs to output PCM.

If anyone has an answer please speak up.

Thanks

I'm pretty sure you can do PCM over optical but you will only get lossy 2.0 only way to get lossless 5.1 or 6.1 or 7.1 or whatever they are mixing this days is with HDMI. that goes for any brand BD player.

Thanks for the feedback, I did some checking last night, and the player can output LPCM over HDMI, however it appears, that the player has no optical out. It does however have red and white stereo out which the sound bar can also take. I am not worried about 2.0 vs 5.1 and above, as the soundbar is only 2.0, or 2.1 with an optional sub, but does virtual surround.

If I choose to move it to the living room, I should be ok, because I think the analog stereo outs are also PCM, correct me if i'm wrong though.
