This and Dazed And Confused are both no-brainers to get. One of those movies I can watch every six months or so and always get into.

Odd but its in my top 5 all time fav movies....One thing I would LOVE for them to add to the BD is the TV version. It had scenes used only in the TV broadcast of it and instead of dubbing scenes they re-shot them...it also has more scenes with Nicholas Coppola (Nicholas Cage) and really adds to spots that the theatrical release doesn't point out!

I've never owned a copy of the movie, before Blu I never really was as crazy about buying movies, but wasn't there some serious music rights clearance issues with the movie where much of the music was replaced for home video? Especially since this is a movie where some of the music is synonymous with the scenes, who can picture Phoebe Cates coming out of the swimming pool without hearing The Cars' "Moving In Stereo" (they have a new album out BTW)?

I have the HD DVD and there are no issues with the music. I'm assuming the Blu-ray will be similar to the HD DVD (which wasn't bad).

It's rare that would happen with a movie unless the movie was produced before the age of home video. It does happen with older TV shows. Both "WKRP in Cincinnatti" and Michael Mann's "Crime Story" had to have much of their music replaced for the DVD versions because it was too expensive to re-license the music rights for home video.
