Sorry. To be more clear - He didn't say it. It was basically a title page after the credits - and before the actual stinger.

It's not really a spoiler. They have long since announced that Thor will be in The Avengers film.

Before the credits started rolling, there was a single sentence on the screen that stated, "Thor will return in The Avengers."

Basically, this was how Marvel decided to tell the world that there will not be a Thor sequel before The Avengers film hits theatres.

Announcements about the film doesn't even matter. The Avengers have been around for decades...and Thor has always been one.
