So you send back whatever you want. and keep the item you got. And PayPal will favor in your case so you keep the item and you get your money back. This has happend to me TWICE. One person just sent me back a few magazines and another person sent me back his junk mail. I got scammed out of about $150 dollars worth of gaming stuff and the other were some game codes for redeeming a in game item. Never sell codes on ebay, someone can buy them "SAY THEY NEVER USED THEM" and tell ebay they were the wrong codes and just send you back the just voucher while still using the codes... Ebay is a crap shoot...

I actually called the local police dept's and the postoffice in there area and they said there was nothing they could do it's he said she said and the people were simply to far away from me to bother with a $150 dollar item etc...

Some good news: The seller refunded the money for the modem and paid my return shipping cost. I'm glad that's over with.
If you got THIER junk mail, then you should have had a case against them. At least, if it had their information on it.

Didn't have any info on it, it was just like pizza ads etc... This was a couple years ago and trust me i tried a lot. I took pictures of the magazines and sent them to pay pal but they just didn't care. Told me he said she said... Police Dept told me the same thing for the most part. Ebay is kind of a honour based system is a sense.

Yeah there are many scammers out there that do that. They write in tiny words that all you are getting is the pictures and unsuspecting people just take a quick glance and think they are getting a good deal. It also happens with video games systems. I remember people where buying Wii boxes( yeah that's right just the box) for $400+ because they thought it was the game system.

And here weeeee gooooo..........

Two items I won from eBay were showing up as being delivered (USPS) on Monday. However, nothing was in my mailbox.

I called the post office yesterday. Ends up that our normal postman was off for whatever reason, so they sent someone else.....who obviously delivered it somewhere else. I explained to the employee where our house was, etc. and from her reaction she knew the guy delivered it to the wrong house. She said: "We'll send him over to the other house to check". Yeah sure. Never heard back from them.

I just got off the phone with them a few mins. ago and the same lady started to act a bit combative with me. She said she had the postman check our house (never saw anyone) and the other house, quote: "rang their doorbell but no answer" and basically said there's nothing they can do because the packages are showing up as delivered in their system.

So, I hit her back with: "But you had him check another house showing there was an error on his part" She then became very quiet. lol Told me she's going to forward it to her supervisor.

I've never had this happen before with the Post Office. Has anyone? If so, how did you resolve it? I'm not about to lose $50 worth of items without a fight. Uneffingbelievable.

I almost had this happen. I ordered something from Amazon.ca and tracking said Canada Post delivered the package at 10am. Well I was home and there was nothing. I was pretty annoyed and an hour or two later I set out to go one street over since the mailman ocassonally delivers their mail to us since the street number is identical and I guess he gets lazy. As I walk out the door, an Amazon package is stuffed tightly in the mailbox. Phew.

I hate how post office workers at the post office kiosks talks to me. Not just one kiosk. They all act like jerks. One time I sent out a money order but put my postal code by accident. I had sent it express since I was impatient yet the postal worker at the place I sent it basically says your screwed and I'll be charged express rates to return to sender which is me which makes no sense at all. Talk to a nice post office support person on the phone and she tells me don't worry, at worst the envelope might be slightly delayed. As it turns out it was delivered without any delays.

We are all human and mistakes happen. I get that. We have all screwed up at some point in our lives. It is just annoying when someone makes a mistake (in this case USPS) and not only doesn't own up to it but pretty much tells you to take a hike because they don't want to deal with it.

Crap has happened to me but I am always less annoyed when the party who made the mistake actually makes an effort to make things right even if they can't. Hell, if it wasn't something too serious most of the time I'd just tell them to forget about it. But if they copped an attitude with me like they did to you I would bother them to no end.

I hope everything works out for you, bro.

A horror story with a god ending from me:

I ordered a 360 for the kid from Amazon...it was a third party seller.

Tracking through UPS said it was delivered. My fiancee was here at the time it said ( and all day for that matter ) & nothing was delivered. We asked around our neighborhood & of course no had it.

I called UPS...they said I had to call Amazon so I did. They said I would have to call UPS. Told them I already did. Then they said I would have to contact the third party. OR they could just refund. Uhhhh....why didn't you just say that in the first place.

So...got the refund instantly. Will NEVER have anything being shipped UPS sent to our house anymore...it's going to my job.

I got scammed with a fake t-shirt once on Ebay. It took a ridiculously long time to ship to my house. It took so long in fact I filed a complaint and the seller refunded my money. A few weeks later I get a phone call from the post office telling me I had a package I had to come pick up and sign for and it was from China. I'm thinking what the hell do I have from China. Sure enough it was the shirt and obviously fake. I get an email from the seller the next day saying that my package was received so she wanted to be paid. I replied telling her I would not be paying her for the fake and she could have it back if she paid for the shipping costs. I never heard anything else from her.

OK, in case for some bizarre reason. this actually happens to someone again, here's what I would advise (and let me preface these comments by saying, both I, and my wife work for the Postal Service)....

1. Call your local PO, or 1-800 ask-usps, always, always, request a call back. Always ask to speak to the DELIVERY Supervisor.

2. No help, call again, ask for the Postmaster (document who you're talking to....)

3. Still no satisfaction, call the District's consumer Affairs department (every Postal District (there's 80+ of them) has one.

4. Contact the District Managers office directly.

5. Lastly, if all else fails (extremely rare) contact your Congressman. One call from your Congressman's office, and your problem goes to the top of the list.....
I found this on Google. I didn't notice the date until afterwards. It's from 2003 lol but seems to be still valid.

I did step 1 Wednesday, asking for the delivery supervisor. Once again, all my info was taken down. I explained what the other employee told me. This time however I called my local post office instead of the hub the package came out of (they're only like 10 min. away from each other anyway).

Aaaaand I'm still waiting for a call back. If the people my packages got delivered to were smart, they'd do the normal thing of putting them back into their mailbox and the postman would take them. This shouldn't take this long.

Also in that forum someone also went so far as calling the police, as it's illegal to open/keep/throw away someone's mail. Hopefully it won't come to that, but if this drags on another week I'll have no problems doing that.

I'm kind of on the other end of some of these complaints. I get EVERYONE'S mail around my house. Our mailman seems to be completely lost for some reason. I leave other people's stuff in there for him to take but he just leaves it there for weeks.

I finally went down to the P.O. and dropped off 4 packages. None were mine, none were even for the same person or even address. I just said "tired of seeing these in my mailbox. Clearly they're for someone else."

I bought a new keyboard for my laptop a few weeks ago. It was supposed to be a genuine part. Anyway, after a week, some of the keys stopped working. I contacted the seller, and they paid for shipping back. Got my refund...

... but what happened next is the kicker. They sent me a "cancellation request." In this request, you have 48 hrs to respond. If you don't decline the request, eBay will automatically "accept" the cancellation request.

What does this do? If the transaction is canceled, you cannot post a review on the seller. The sneaky part is the seller made it sound like I needed to accept the cancellation to finalize the return. I told them I forwarded eBay their email and they should wait to hear from them. Now the seller is offering me $2 to take down my negative review.

Did you give them a negative because they sent you that cancellation request or because they sold you a bad keyboard but did the right thing by paying for shipping back to them as well as issuing you a refund?

Kali157, I'm confused at your story as well.

The post office actually called me back today, unfortunately nothing new. They claimed they sent the guy back in the area again, BUT this time admitting he checked a total of 3 houses. Wtf? While my house # is normal, the name of my street is the weirdest thing in the entire area. They said they're sending someone again tomorrow to check (per my advice seeing as it's the weekend and there's more of a chance at people being home during the day oppose to during the work week), but I'm not holding my breath. The supervisor said that's all the local branch can do, then he gave me the USPS's Inspection Service phone number. Can't wait to call them up.

Selling non genuine parts as genuine parts qualifies for a negative. Part numbers on the keyboard, manufacturer, serial numbers do no match. If I wanted knock-offs, I would have paid much less. I initially let it go (did email them about it... no response). But then it stopped working. Guess I didn't specify the reason for neg review. Was focused on warning people about the cancel thing.

Ah got it. Well-deserved on the sellers' part.
