LOL!! um... never. And no, that's not a joke.

I'm assuming you are speaking of the Judd Apatow Fox production?? If so, then I'm afraid you are inquiring about one of the lowest in demand TV series releases on the market, so you will not be seeing this on blu in the near future, if at all. The show wasn't even filmed in HD to begin with, so a blu release would be rather pointless, especially since the studio would in no way benefit from a blu-ray release of this series.. The same goes for Undeclared.

Sorry, but you shouldn't expect to see this make the jump to blu.

Yeah, I highly doubt this series will ever come to BD. Also, if it did it would be pillarboxed to 1.33:1, but the good news is that it was done on 35mm in Panavision.

Your logic is a joke.

Is there another "Freaks and Geeks"?

Based on what? I mean, admittedly, it's not like we're talking about a show that features practically an entire cast of film and television stars written and produced by the most consistently-successful comedy producer working today. Wait, what?

You're right. The show wasn't filmed in HD. The fact that it was filmed means it would actually benefit from HD.

Yeah, the studio has no way of benefitting from an HD release for a show with HD potential. I mean, it would be one thing if you said the potential for benefit was limited but you're not. You've made several hilariously ridiculous points that you've tried to pass off as facts.

You're right, all of the stupid things you said that you got wrong can also be applied to that show as well.

Unless Shout! Factory and Dreamworks figure out they can make some money off it.

Would be a day 1 purchase for me, and like GuruAskew explained, would benefit from HD / BD because it was filmed. Would look great!

But it's doubtful this will get to blu anytime soon though.

What it does have going for it is a very, very loyal & large fan base. That was the impetus back in the early days of DVD to get that wonderful "yearbook" edition released. So maybe one day?

The only way I'd consider buying the series on Blu-Ray is if they took the 6 DVD set and just copied them over into only 2 Blu-Rays. It will only be in 480p but the advantage of having 1/3 of the number of discs will certainly tempt me into a purchase.

But I really don't care about seeing this series in HD like most TV shows.

Why even bother coming in a BD wish list thread and saying you would be interested in an SD version?

Also, I don't believe there have been any TV series that were simply "copied" onto BD just to save space.

And I doubt studios would experiment with what would certainly be consumer confusion (a BD disc without HD video), with a cult favorite show rather than a more widely known series anyway.

Like to have this as well, great music throughout. Love the scene in the pilot when Sam finally gets the nerve up to ask the cheerleader to dance and the Styx song goes from slow to fast, I totally felt his pain there.

The benefit of saving space by loading SD content onto a Blu-ray disc is dwarfed by the fact that you inevitably isolate said content to relatively-rare Blu-ray players as opposed to DVD players that are even found in childrens bedrooms. Not to mention the "why isn't this in HD?" confusion.
