Any news/rumors of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves?

Just wondering if Robin Hood:POT is planned/rumored to be coming out on blu?

Warner let slip some titles they were working on for 2008 for Blu-ray and HD DV... err... they let slip some titles they were planning for 2008. RH: POT was one of the titles listed.

I hope they take some time and care with that one. It's such a brilliant movie, but every dvd version looked abysmal. And the Cable HD version wasn't much better. Hopefully they can remaster this one and do a high bit rate AVC or VC-1 encode from it.

I didn't think that the SE DVD looked too bad.

Oh, it did, trust me. One of the absolute worst looking DVD's I own. I have a few non-anamorphics that give it a run for its money. Compression blocking, artifacts, halos, jaggies, noise, washed-out palette and grain all over the place...it was a virtual how-not-to of DVD mastering. And this coming from a reviewer over at dvdauthority, so take it from me, it sucked. lol Put it in again. I guarantee you're remembering it through rose-colored glasses. Your HDM-trained eye will see right through its ugliness now, believe me. I'd also love to see this one finally get a decent transfer.

I guess I'll have to watch it again tonight. I typically remember when I see terrible PQ.

I would take a look at this movie. Just for all of the arrows flying around in the air should look good enough.

Truer words have never been spoken. I remember buying the SE DVD in the hopes that it replacing my disc a / disc b version and that it would somehow be better this many years later in the dvd mastering game, but it may have actually been worse than the original release on dvd! maybe...
