I picked a few up today for my friends and I agree the amount my store had was about half of Harry Potter and Green Hornet. I say it'll be sold out by Thursday.

It's crazy, my store has about 10 more copies of Harry Potter still sitting on the shelves (at a low low price of $39.99) and probably 7-8 copies of green Hornet for $32.99. They might have learned not to overstock based on the past couple of Steelbook sales...instead I think they should learn not to charge such a high price if they didn't sell their original stock when it was on sale to begin with. Keep the prices as is.

Because of the black background and the shrinkwrapping job, this one is actually a difficult one to get in near mint condition.

I picked through about 20+ copies and only found a handful (3-4?) which were acceptable. (Yes, I got one for you, my portugese friend.)

ya i went through some copies, hard to find ones without a tear in the shrink wrap or scratches. it would be too hard too tell if there are any scratches of any sort in the actual steelbook.

Add in the loser who opened the box with a box cutter. At least half had the cut line across the spine.

If u want i can buy one use it for a bit then sell it to u for 30 bucks. clearly u were insinuating that you wanted a new one for that price not used. Like i said if you want a used steelbook no problem. just dont expect it to be mint in the wrapper free of scratches from mailing it without the plastic wrap on.

I had to go to 2 stores to find 10 good copies. I see Calgary is not the only place with defected stock. What a pain! There were torn wrappers, pin scratches, some even dented. WTH?

Thanks should go to Rabbit. He also pointed out that the sides have a glossy finish but the front/back cover have a matte finish.

A very well done steelbook. Can't wait to open mine tonight.

I'm surprised so many of you are having a hard time finding a copy that wasn't through the war. I picked up a couple copies, checked them all, and they all seemed fine. I took a copy from the center of the row (because I'm OCD) and unwrapped it when I got home and not a scratch, dent, ding, nada.

Only thing with mine was the poor "gluemanship" they did with the cardboard backing on the case. Someone got hot and horny with the rubber glue and used a bit too much, leaving a little bit of a residue, but otherwise, I can't complain.
