Trophies but no PSN account - Blu-ray Forum

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this but just in case..

Without a PSN account is there any way to save/backup trophies? My PS3 is being replaced tomorrow and while my stuff is fine, there's an account on it that has some trophies but has never had a PSN account created for it. Presumably these will be lost.

You may want to try that PS3 copy function that copies everything from one PS3 to another, but I have no idea if it'll get the trophies or not. That's probably your best bet though!

Or you can try making a PSN account for that local account now and then syncing the trophies...I don't even know if that would work though.

Sync with the server and you're trophies will be fine.

You can only sync trophies with a PSN account, so I was wondering if there was another way to save them if you didn't have an account.

It seems not. Not to worry, it's not a big deal.

I'm not certain on this but can you not sign in with your existing PSN username and password on the user which has these trophies? I've never tried it myself so I'm not sure whether the trophies would add to your PSN account or not.

I'm not really sure what your question is, but I know if you bought a new PS3 and jumped right into Uncharted for example, and racked up 10 trophies they would all pop up as normal. As soon as you go back and create an account those trophies transfer to your new account, the only difference is that they won't have time/date stamps below the trophy.

I know for a fact that backing up your drive and restoring it will NOT save your trophies. Every time I've used it, I've had to re-sync my trophies with the server.

I have never used the data transfer function, so that may or may not work (I doubtful here as well, due to the fact that things like DLC still need to be re-activated on the new system; not exactly the same thing, but Sony's been fairly particular about how people earn trophies).

It's the same. We use it a lot at work, and it does not transfer trophies.

Just create an online account for it if you want to keep the trophies.
