I believe this will actually be a wide release (not exclusive)

I am so sick of titles going exclusively to JB when they are initially announced for wide release. (The video clearly does not say exclusive and that is because it wasn't at the inital announcement)

Yeah I don't know why Universal is doing that. They would get way more sales if it was nationwide release.

Curious - EzyDVD's got it listed: http://www.ezydvd.com.au/item.zml/819689

I wonder whether there will be two editions as it seems that's the impression I'm getting:

JB Exclusive - 3-disc metal slipcover which includes Apocalypse Now, AN: Redux and Hearts of Darkness
General release - 2-disc metal slipcover which includes AN: Redux and Hearts of Darkness.

All the info at EzyDVD seems to indicate that the 2-disc release ditches the original cut. Not sure if this is just prelim info or not but it definitely would make the JB set the one to get if you're buying locally.

I can't recall with regards to cards as it's been a while since I paid that way. I think they do though. With PayPal the money comes out straight away unlike EzyDVD who do a preliminary charge to your PayPal account.

I get the feeling there will be only two releases;

MetalCase 2 Disc.
Digipack 3 Disc.

The gave the 2 disc a metalcase to help with the sales over the awesome 3 disc.

Hey I was just thinking about this, how JB Aus (http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/support.aspx?q=Blu-Ray) has the ad on the right hand side, saying 'metal slipcase cover'.

I was thinking about the size of the digipack it might be using. Anyone else wondering if this metal slip case will be more like an actual slipcover (slides off the top or bottom, rather than the side, ie Rambo Region 1 SE dvd) ?

Just been thinking because of the size of the actual box the BDs will come in.

I would prefer it if it was a metal slip like the godfathers and dark knight. One because they look awesome and two; wait 6 months and they're are the rarest things in Australia. The dark knight slip was just sold for $200 and a while back sold for over $300. I have 3 copies but missed out on the others, T2, Gladiator, IB.!
Also scarface is listed as a metal case, not a steelbook

Haha, I sold one of the four I bought for $129. Compared to over $300 I'm depressed but still made a huge profit. Gladiator would go for a max of $60-$70. While it's rare and OOP it's not in high demand. Steel slips in high demand that would go over $200 would be:
Dark knight
Inglorious bastards
Godfather trilogy
Smokin aces set
Saving private Ryan

Lucky for me I have 4 stores that stock the godfathers and smokin aces so if I need cash, buy it for $40, sell for $150!!

Didn't know the Godfather trilogy went for so much. I've seen a couple of sets here and there at various JBs.

Regretting not picking up some of the others when I had a chance.

I just picked up the God Father Tril for $30.00 each at my Local JB HiFi , I had a winge about the plastic wraper being broken , and I got them all for $30
Its funny because the first guy I asked about them went on his PC and said "ner mate we aint got no steel slips left "
Then I grabed a young guy and straight away he went and grabed all 3 for me , from under the shelf in the card board boxes below !!,

these will go in the sock drawer untill I get a good offer for them
