Even stout HD supporters are seeing the writing on the wall.

Yet they still write stuff like this:

Quote:
First, studios should have lowered the combo disc price (given that the HD format is cheaper to produce) and released ONLY these. Get the discs in peoples' hands, educate them this way, and then when they see the low-priced HD players, they make the switch because they already own the movies.
Sure, let's lose millions in order to support a potentially dying format which we don't really have deep investment in.

I've read a lot of posts on other forums about combo discs "holding HD-DVD down".

If hd-dud was stupid enough to make combo disc, and its cost more to make, who's fault is that? If hd-dud was dumb to give away they player for a big loss, 10 movies for each player bought and finally, had a bogo sale of the top 3 hd-dud movies and still lost, who's fault is that?

All I have to say is the hd-dud supporters elevators can't get pass the second floor on a 100 floor building.

The notion that hd-dud is cheaper is asinine. The local retail stores had blu-ray disc at the same price as hd-dud or even a few dollars cheaper. So how its that argument true?

But that was supposed to be their saviour! Also note the comment that they should have ONLY produced the combo discs and lowered the prices. Talk about FORCING something they don't want on someone.

Because its HD-DVD and they have been bullied over and over and over and they are going to run home to their mommies and tell on Blu-Ray because they just can't get over it.

That's the problem. The never were cheaper. 300 was $5 more even on sale. Only the players were cheaper. But the HD DVD supporters said that in the long run they were still cheaper. Hmm. let me see. I paid $500 for my HD DVD player and $600 for a PS3. That is only a 20 movie difference and I now have nearly 100 BDs. Also, the notion that HD DVD average price is about $2 less than BDs is because.......... UNIVERSAL released a ton of catalog titles at $29.99 instead of the combo discs for the new releases that were $39.99. So, yes, on average the HD DVD price is lower. I believe BD has far more current releases than HD DVD.
