Default Box Office Weekend 'First Class' 6/3 - 6/5

The Hangover Part II has taken the domestic box office by storm, but can it defeat X-Men: First Class to remain weekend box office champ? I do not think so. X-Men should score between $70 million - $100 million for the weekend and become the new #1 box office movie in North America. Kung Fu Panda 2 and POTC 4 should also have a significant effect on weekend ticket sakes.

X-Men could rake in $100 million or even more, imo. Hangover is gonna drop big time with word-of-mouth. KFP takes second place next week.

it'll drop but i doubt b/c of word of mouth.

people are gonna go see this movie b/c they want to laugh....and believe it or not....the majority of the movie going public aren't gonna share the same opinion that most of the members on here do!!

KFP 2 will have a nice bounce back weekend for sure, but Hangover is on such a roll right now.

It never ceases to amaze me what people will pay to watch, even in the face of common sense. Heck, the same could also be said for some of the collections here.

If First Class doesn't take the top spot, I would be surprised.

X-men hands down, I'm seeing lots of predictions that it will open soft though, between 75-85 million.

I voted for X-men but I was wrong last week---

I figured PIRATES would hold onto #1 and HANGOVER at number 2....

but I'm guessing that HANGOVERS audience all went during the holiday
week-end and the next big superhero movie will rule at the boxoffice..

X-Men and Spiderman are the top two series in the Marvel universe and that alone should count for something. I grew up reading comic books, but I know that is not the case for 99% of the members here. I am also older than 99% of the members here, since I am in my mid thirties...so I guess, I went off topic enough ?

Wow. You must not follow tracking numbers then.

I'm saying X-Men. 70-90 million.

First Class will take first place this weekend. Although some people may enjoy the Hangover II, it will drop alot. I have not heard anything good about it co-workers.

I really want to lowball X-Men due to lack of advertising and 100% new cast. It's going to rely more on franchise loyalty than starpower.

Hangover will hold over the next month. There's not a single comedy coming out until Bad Teacher on 6/24

Panda should hold decent. No real competition until 6/17 Mr. Popper's Penguins and 6/24 Cars 2

1. X-Men: First Class - 72
2. The Hangover - Part II - 37
3. Kung Fu Panda 2 - 26
4. Pirates 4 - 19

I voted X-Men. I saw POTC on opening night and there weren't very many people there . Saw KFP last Saturday but at the 9:20 showing and not too many there either.

X-Men is doing very well on RT so far. 97% with 33 reviews.

There's plenty of us here older than you my friend. Maybe not 90% but a fair amount (I'm 46, Brent/CrazyBlue is 49 I think, Fors* is 41-42 I believe).

Anyway, I voted X-Men also - the Trailers look Incredibly Action-PACKED & I predict it'll do at Least $80-87 Million.

Wow, that's a Huge gap there GW' ($20M), so if it does $71M or $89M you're covered, huh?

Well, I'll mostly be right.

I'm actually guessing 79-83 million.
