Default Best internal Blu-ray drive for £50-90

Hi, my pc came with a bd-rom drive but all of a sudden the drive doesnt read ...cd's anymore it keeps making a noise and doesnt even read the disc at all, anywho!! im after a reliable blu-ray internal drive for around £50-90 which would last me for a few years and has good firmware updates, any ideas?

so far the ones that have caught my eye are the following and would love to know how these or any internal bluray drive firmware support is like and how the process goes such as background running to check for firmware updates etc

Samsung SH-B083L

LG BH10LS30.AUAR10B

LG BH10LS30.AUAU10B

also just curious what is the difference between these two LG drives they seem to be the exact same :s

thanks

The LG BH10LS30.AUAU10B is also a Blu-ray writer + DVD writer while the AUAR10B is just a Blu-ray reader + DVD writer.

I've only updated it once. Not really needed as it played all my discs fine, but I'm a hardware geek and like to keep things up-to-date.

The firmware update was just a normal .exe file.

That is weird, when I looked last night it showed different and only one as the writer.

Oh well, also looking at the 2 now it shows the LG BH10LS30.AUAR10B 10x Internal Blu-Ray BDRW Retail Kit as a retail kit, and the LG BH10LS30.AUAU10B 10x Internal Blu-Ray BDRW Bare + Software as possibly OEM + software.

If the revision's are based on alphabet I'd also wager that the AUAU10B is a newer version.

I have the lg, and love it. No issues, has a program to check the fw on it's own, and I've not had a movie that I couldn't watch yet. I've burned DVD and BD, data discs and home movies on both disc formats, and not had a coaster yet- even with sketchy DVD-r media.

It's the only one I'd buy if I were to need another.

I bought an LG early last year and I returned it because only half of the BDs I owned at the time were playable.

Picked it up at best buy when it was on sale - for what it's worth. Not sure of the suffix of the model number.

the suffix to the model number wasn't on the label, but I found the box today. It also doesn't have a suffix.

So, best I can do is the UPC : 058231293821

(I'm in the US by the way, for what it's worth).

I intend to buy an internal Blu-ray reader/writer optical drive for my desktop PC. Could somebody recommend a good quality one? Does any of you guys have experience with Pioneer, Lite-On or Plextor drives? Is it worth to pay the extra price for the brand?

I am willing to pay a bit more for a drive, but I would like to get a reliable quality drive with good performance for my money. Thanks for the tips in advance.
