I have a copy of the Future Shop original CDN steelbook, but some idiot has written on it in permanent marker. It says 'Calm & Dwayne' or something on the back of the case, on the blu banner at the top. This also appears on the blu disc as well. Can this be removed? Anyone interested in this can check out my Trade thread.

I would use masking tape to protect the case, then use rubbing alcohol to see if it will take the black crap off

If it still shows through a bit use a blue marker to recolour the banner

Worst case senario , it will look better than it does now

i've tried a car cleaner wax before and it worked out like a charm.the danger in using alcohol is the chance that it will remove actual paint.car wax seems to do the trick for me.

Rhylliam, I have been collecting various things all of my life.

In all the cases, it is almost always better to just leave markings and what not alone unless you are sure that it can be wiped off clean 100%.

To be sure, I would practice on a hidden corner or on a throwaway SteelBook if you have one.

I am skeptical that anything will take off the permanent ink, but leave the printed surface intact. Especially after it has been sitting like this for some time.

If I were you, I would try it on a different SteelBook to test it first. If I was feeling brave, I would try it out on the actual SteelBook a bit at a time.

Sometimes it is actually better to keep it as-is and just describe it to any potential buyer as you just have.

For the disc itself, it is easy -- just replace the disc with another cheap (even used) copy.

Use a white board dry erase marker. Use the dry eraser marker over the permanent marker and wipe off with a cloth. I did it on a white board after an idiot used a permanent marker. Try it on the disc itself first.

These seem to vary greatly I've seem some on Ebay US sell for nearly $150. I just bought a minty one (unsealed) inc. dog tags, data sheet etc. from ebay for £50 shipped, so around $70 which I thought was a bit of a bargain. I recently saw a German Iron Man sell for under £50 too, so seems to be crazy fluctuations at the mo

- you know there was a guy on here selling Indy for around $80 right? I nearly took it but didn't have enough that month, user: tsgee I believe, perhaps drop him a PM - works out around £60 or so shipped

Yesterday, I sold an IB (sealed) for $145.00, Indy (opened) for $105.00, Iron Man (opened) for $205.00. These were sold to a local collector.
