i used to love this movie in the 80s, but i haven't seen it since and
have the bad feeling it won't stand the test of time at all.

@Ite

Yes, because the entire Lakeshore Entertainment catalog went to Image Entertainment now. So we can assume that Anchor Bay is almost completely out of the horror catalog business. I bet that Image will announce even more titles soon, f.ex. Creepshow 2.

EDIT: WHAT? Halloween 4 & 5 were also New World (Lakeshore) films? OMFG, so we might see them this year too.
Here's a list of the Nw World titles (I bet every movie starting in 1985 is part of this agreement) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_World_Pictures

I have the Arrow release. It's a great package! Nice artwork...interesting special features...and a beautiful transfer!

Vamp is an overlooked gem from the 80's. Good horror/comedy hybrid!

I have it too. I'm wondering how it will compare to this one...

Is the Arrow release of Vamp Region-free? Very tempted to buy it on Amazon.

All of Arrow's disc are region free (except for Battle Royale: SE......the LE release is region free). Although, you will need a player that handles PAL content, as many of their sets have special features on a region free, PAL format DVD.

This was one of my top 10 horror favorites as a kid. I have watched it within the last year and it still withstands the test of time which many 80's horror flicks don't do. My favorite part is when snow walks up to the little girl and she attacks him and latches on to his arm

Loved this movie as a kid. Fright Night and Vamp on VHS in the 80's... Ah, the memories.

I think I'll hold out to see what the Image release looks like. Although I love Arrow's packaging. I have a few titles from Arrow. Part of me wants to order all of their films just for the packaging.

Yeah, I can't imagine that Image will even come close to matching Arrow in the packaging department...

Dedee Pfeiffer

worth a view for her alone. watched this recently, didn't really care for it all too much. it's nice image doing something with that anchor bay catalog though. should make for an interesting halloween season.

Of course not. But I care about what's on the disc, and unfortunately some of Arrow's releases aren't as pretty as the packaging.

I'm guessing this will use Anchor Bay's HD transfer. Anyone remember how the AB DVD looked?

Arrows Vamp blu is probably their best where PQ is concerned.
