Lost's Lindelof Does Disney Sci-Fi
Quote:
That whole Lost thing is really paying off for Damon Lindelof now. The former executive-producer of the show has just signed a seven-figure deal to script and produce a big sci-fi picture for Disney.
Deadline has the report on the project, a "large-scale film that can play to a family audience." The film has a working title of 1952, though no other details have been let loose from loose lips yet.
Water pitchers may appear closer than they are.
The plan is to go multi-platform with this project, not just the movie route. Of course it is.
Since Lost, Lindelof has had a hand in Cowboys & Aliens (with fellow J.J. Abrams alumni Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci), he rewrote Ridley Scott's Alien prequel and thus turned it into the now shooting not-Alien-prequel Prometheus, and he's back with Kurtzman and Orci for Star Trek 2 as well. The Disney film won't start cooking until after the Trek script is done.
