Its been useless so far. Once I spoke to multiple customer reps to make them understand the importance of packaging for Steelbooks but looks like its not in their hands.

I've been a member of their "Prime" membership* for a couple of years now, and when I used to order art books I would constantly get them damaged (bent corners/edges). When I called to have them resent, I was constantly told that customer service has no way of calling or noting the packing/shipping area at the warehouse to tell the packers to do it better. Usually an item is thrown in a box with crumpled up paper or plastic air bags to keep the item from sliding side to side in the box, but there is no material put on the top or bottom of the item to keep it from damage when the outer box crumpled.

It's luck of the draw if your item isn't banged around during transit, and you only get three chances to return/resend an item before Amazon just refunds your money and denies you the sale of the item again.

Customer Service has told me that the link you provided was the only way you could voice your opinions on packaging to the right people, but it's more of a survey than a specific person reading your request and changing the way they ship things.

*Amazon Prime is an $80 yearly subscription service where you receive free 2-day shipping for all items and $3.99 over-night shipping for all items being sold. You can sign up to four/five family members to share in your subscription, even if they live in different addresses and have different last names.

This topic of Amazon shipping has been beaten to death every time someone somewhere gets a damaged shipment.

Amazon is not in the 'collectibles' business. If you care enough to have your shipment undamaged, then go the collector route.

Amazon is not going to overhaul their shipping procedures just because 2-3 guys complain about a dent in their SteelBooks.
