Default Best PQ Blu-ray

Hi all

I'm going to be getting a PS3 in 2 weeks along with a most likely Samsung LNT4061F and was wondering what the best PQ blu ray there is out right now.

I heard that Planet earth looks stunning but what do you guys rate as THE BEST PQ wise blu ray.

Great, but get the w3000 if you're planning on doing the v2500 it does 24 fps. Don't get me wrong though, I have a beautiful TV.

It's good bang for the buck though as with the Sony.

Apocalypto is awesome!!! I haven't seen Planet Earth, but on Discovery HD Theatre. It looked awesome there, but only 1080i. I haven't seen Live Free or Die Hard at all.

Many of the suggested movies in this thread are great picture wise. I will also throw in The Patriot and Casino Royale as being some of the best looking discs on the format.

I found that the outdoor scenes and indoor scenes in this move apeared to be filmed with different cameras or something. The indoor scenes seemed to have a little grit or grain showing thu but the outdoor scenes were phenominal. anyone else notice this?

This is pretty common in any film, lower light levels mean more visible grain generally. This is especailly prevalent in The Road Warrior and Halloween, two older movies on Blu-ray that look great in the daytime shots, but very grainy in the darker shots.

This is a lot less pronounced in newer movies shot on film, but you can still see it sometimes. Movies shot on digital video doesn't have film grain, of course, but can have their own image problems with dark areas.
