The Fugitive Blu-ray Review

I plan on picking this up tomorrow along with some other flciks since it's on sale and have been hearing so/so on the PQ. How is it? Is it worth picking up on Blu? Thanks.

I have the movie and think it is worth it if you don't already own it. It is a great movie and while it is no Close Encounters or Planet Earth the PQ is definitely a cut above DVD.

i picked this today and havent see it yet, its wb ad im sure its gonna be great pq and movie on BLU

Don't expect to be blown away by the PQ but, like flyfree432 said, it is definitely much better than the DVD release.

Very poor transfer. In fact If I remember correctly its one of the few botch jobs Warner did early on like Full Metal Jacket(sourced from a bobbed 1080i master).

If its a movie you really like get it. I got RoboCop and it has to be the worst BD out there for PQ. The review at HDDigest wasn't that bad. Three and a half stars.

If you have the DVD, it might not be much of an upgrade. If you're like me, and never owned the DVD, it was certainly a pretty good purchase, especially if you nab it on sale or BOGO.

Well, I have it and it looks excellent projected onto a 106" screen. The sound is another story though.

If the video sucks on the Blu-ray release, why does the reviewer on this site give it a 2? Show some intestinal fortitude. Tell consumers don't waste their money and be satisfied with the SD version. This guy has never seen a Blu-ray disc that he doesn't like. We need an objective reviewer who is not afraid to call a dud a dud.

With 5 being the highest available rating, 2 out of 5 is pretty bad. Did you actually READ the review?

I have this movie and on my 50" 1080p plasma, it is so bad that I thought there was a problem with my disc.

I love The Fugitive but I thought it was a pretty bad looking disc, alot of compression issues throughout. Some scenes were ok but overall it didn't looked good at all

the picture is pretty bad on this one but still a big improvement over dvd. However I don't know if it b/c I pay attention more or b/c it in HD and easier to notice. If you watch the scene where kimble goes to see the inmate with the prostetic limb right before the st patty's day parade around 1:20 ish he has really dark brown hair. Then after he escapes in the parade the very next scene he has damn near blonde hair...I seem to be noticing things like this alot lately.

Ah, the wonders of filming motion films out of chronological sequence.

well, maybe not, but that's a likely reason.

Ehhh...I never owned this film on VHS or DVD...so I'll probably add it to the collection for a cheap buy. Very enjoyable, but even if the transfer wasn't an A+...it was probably the best the film could look. With Andrew Davis directing Above the Law and Under Siege...this was another great film from him.

Well, a remastered version has been confirmed as being in progress, so I'm waiting for it. Hopefully, it will arrive in time for the 20th anniversary, in August 2013.
