Also, be aware that Doug Bradley is not playing Pinhead in this installment. I am interested in seeing it, but I'm also cautious about it since Doug isn't in it.

I stopped watching at the fourth film because his role was so minimal from there on. To me, Pinhead is the crux of the series (as is Bradley's performance as Pinhead, which is why he, like Robert Englund, cannot be replaced in a remake), and without his presence I have no interest in the series.

I even enjoyed Hellraiser III: Hell On Earth simply because of the Pinhead backstory elements where we saw
[Show spoiler]Bradley as Pinhead's previous human form: Captain Elliott Spencer
.

Yeah, Pinhead and Freddy aren't like Michael, Jason or Leatherface, where you can just plug in any no-name stunt guy, and it'll work out (more or less). Doug Bradley is Pinhead, Robert Englund is Freddy Krueger. Anyone else will just try and ape what they've already established (which is a recipe for epic FAIL).

That, and the title/concept, were the last traces of Clive Barker's story outline for a third New World Pictures HR, before New World went under, and the story was sold to.....oyyy, who it was sold to.
It's the only trace of intelligent #1-2 elegance in the entire #3, so you get the sense that it had to come from somewhere else. If you enjoyed that, you probably know why.

Just rewatched #2 on Netflix (after the Blu-ray thread), and this is just NOT a franchise you could sell to anyone else.
Barker's horror isn't some Canadian horror anthology where characters gasp and wake up from dream-sequences every five minutes...Either you're in Barker's Neil Gaiman-ish goth-poetry ex-Catholic mind, talking about "ecstasies of the flesh" every other line, or you're not.
Imagine, say, Kevin Williamson directing "Lord of Illusions" or "Nightbreed", and if you can't picture it either, that's kinda the point: Only Barker can direct Barker, because he's the only one who understands what the heck he's talking about.

Yeah they showed his backstory in Hellraiser II: Hellbound, im sure of it... maybe not in such detail, but he definitely had on a soldiers uniform.

Its going to be weird having another guy playing Pinhead!

Yeah how the heck can they pull it off? I bet it is ultra low budget as well?

Reportedly only $300,000! It was only made to retain the rights to the series, all the reviews I've seen from the one screening it had are very negative. At least they're not burying it like the original Fantastic Four movie. The new Pinhead just looks wrong in every way.

Of course, I'm still going to watch it! I must be stupid...

Now that is low budget. Regarding the other Hellraiser films, Hellraiser Inferno was in my opinion the best film in the series since the first one. I did enjoy most of the previous films, primarily because after Number 1 they had the same screenwriter and attempted to maintain some kind of continuity, but after Hellraiser Deader (based on a script that was never meant to be a hellraiser movie) i'm bailing out. The new film is being made to hold onto the film rights, no other reason. £200k is pocket change for Dimension. That's not even television.

Okay, is the film only going to be 25 mins. long? That budget won't even pay for sets or equipment. Is this going to be shot like the Blair Witch or some shit?

Yeah, I'm a big Hellraiser fan so I'll be right there with ya. I gotta see it, if only to watch them destroy the franchise once and for all.

Okay, I had to look this Bullsh!t movie up and apparently this is not supposed to be the actual Pinhead but someone named Nico. Who gets caught up in the cenobites world and mimics the actual Pinhead in appearance. The real Pinhead is said to be his master and I'm not all together sure if we even see the actual Pinhead in the film. I'm guessing, No! So not only is this a cheap sequel the Pinhead we get is a poser dipsh!t wanna be.

@Troy

I read several reviews about this movie and they all claimed that there is a Pseudo-Pinhead and the real Pinhead in this movie. So we should see the real one afterall.

I'm very curious about this movie, I know that it is supposed to be shit, but I just love Hellraiser too much to noch check it out.
