I remember a lot of people talking about PS2 backwards compatibility through emulation like it is for PSONE games. Nothing really ever came of it and Sony definitely never made any announcement. It's possible, and if it was software, it would just be a firmware update as opposed to new hardware.
I had the original 60gb system for a while, it's gone now and I have a new system. I haven't missed the PS2 backwards compatibility yet, but I'm sure I will at one point...I really want to play the Suikoden games that have been sitting on the shelf. |
