Not all EA games are on steam though which makes their current relationship all the more odd given EA is the distributor for PC Valve games sold at retail stores. But in response to her, I say screw the steam and its steamworks where your forced to use the client even if you buy games retail or at another digital store. It's just comical when steam fanatics critiscize steam for pre-order Origin exclusive versions of games when everyone does it even retail chains. Not to mention valve games are only sold on steam digitally of the aformentioned requirement of steam for a growing list of third party games. |

Why not? It's not like EA has to pay for double the bandwidth for a used sale. Player A who sold the game no longer uses their servers as they're without the game. It's a quick money grab, nothing else. The only thing they're stuck with reserving space for is Player A's existing profile. But that's nothing. If it was something, every forum and online store in the world would charge to use and keep a profile n'est-ce pas?

EA seems to be leading the industry in nickel and diming those that buy their products. The new NCAA 12 looks like it may take the cake. You don't get a full featured game for $60 bucks. I am only half joking when I mused that eventually you will have to pay for the ball as DLC. Many things are $2.99 that should be a part of the game. That goes with the online pass crap they started years back. But that has made them billions and I don't see it changing, just getting worse.
